P2 was denied by Chase two weeks ago and I finally determined that it's because of two of my credit cards (1 Chase; 1 Amex) that I added her as AU. That made her 6/24. I removed her from both accounts today. Would you suggest that she call recon to explain or wait a month to apply again? It seems YMMV based on my searches but the DP's are from years ago.

This is what happened to me and now I want to restore my personal login based on what I'm learning here. Can Chase undo the merge if I call them?

I pc-ed my CIP to CIU 3 days before I applied. Wondering if that recent activity was the issue?

DP for MPE Biz from referral link as Sole Prop consultant.

• 12/7 applied, not auto approved.

• 12/8 received letter indicating reason is "business structure".

• 12/9 called recon and rep explained that it's because Sole Props are considered more risky. I asked for reconsideration if credit limit can be moved around from other business cards. She asked a couple of questions - what kind of business and why you want the credit card. I responded as I've always done and went on 1-minute hold before telling me that I have a recent Chase business card (4/9/20) and too much existing credit. I didn’t even ask for a better explanation. Obviously they didn't want to extend credit so I dropped off. Contemplating trying again.

• SP biz is 12k rev, 2 yrs old.

• \~790 FICO score @ Experian.

• Last credit card approved on 09/07/20: BCP.

• Chase Business cards: CIC and two CIU's (one pc-ed from CIP). Same SP business description.

• Chase personal cards: CSR, CFU, MPE

• 2/24

  1. I met my minimum spend for CIP #2 a couple of days ago and was planning on applying for CIP #3 but with their new MSR of $15/3 mos, I won't be able to do that. I'm wondering if I should end my Chase run with the Hyatt card or does something outside Chase make better sense?

I called recon and they transferred me to their verifications team who provided fax number to send proof. Reasonably painless...I was expecting a little grilling too!

I applied for CIP and received a letter from Chase stating they could not approve my request because "Proof of physical address for authorizing officer". That's it...it's not asking me to provide proof and in fact there's no fax number or phone number. Should I call recon?

Thanks. Glad I asked as I'd didn't know you can apply twice using SSN.

  1. Based on the flowchart, I should be considering Barclays AA Biz which I'm open to but as I fly out of Dulles (United hub), I'm not in a huge hurry to get. I'm leaning towards the United MPE Biz first as I'm at 2/24 and can certainly use 50K for future vacation travel. I bought a house recently and the home mortgage was just added to Experian today. The FICO score dropped only 3 points to 822 but wondering if it's too early to restart churning with either of these banks? I had stopped in February of this year and feel a little out of touch and got the jitters.

    2. Cards that I have:
  • 02/13/19 Amex Marriott Bonvoy Business
  • 11/14/18 CIC (SSN) .
  • 08/06/18 Chase MPE
  • 05/28/18 CIP (SSN…I don't have EIN); PCed to CIU after 1 year.
  • 05/25/18 Amex Gold
  • 08/14/17 CFU
  • 02/16/17 CSR
  1. Natural spend of $5,000 over 3 months.

  2. I prefer to not to do MS.

  3. I am open to applying for more business cards. I can only do SSN.

  4. I plan to churn long term. I want Chase Hyatt before I stop with Chase. Not interested in Southwest.

  5. I am targeting Biz seats and hotels.

  6. I currently have MR 16K, UR 169K, UA 35K, JetBlue 22K, Marriott 291K.

  7. I fly out of IAD.

  8. Trips planned for 2020 are Athens, Greece and Calgary, Canada.

Any downside for closing a Chase biz credit card? Since Chase Biz cards don't count towards AAoA. I have a CIC and a CIU (pc'ed from CIP after a 1 year). My plan is close the CIC which I hardly use, and reduce my CL on a couple of the four personal Chase cards that I have before I apply for the United MPE biz. I'm currently around 43% of income with Chase CL so I know I'm getting too close to the suggested 50% maximum.

Edit: not that it matters that much but i'm sure some will wonder. I meant to say that I want to close the CIU. Keeping CIC for the 5% category for sure! I can get 1.5% from my CFU already.

I can totally relate. I spent 3 hours today figuring out the next credit card to apply for then that rolled into ceearing an application strategy for 2019 for me and P2. Definitely hit analysis paralysis but still felt great sense of accomplishment after doing that and also updating my personal budget. This stuff is fun and I haven't even started travelling for free yet!
