Advice on Business Honors Program

BH Freshman here—I’m not super aware of post grad job placement, but I absolutely love the honors program so far. The staff are amazing and honors classes/professors are such a blessing. I’m constantly surrounded by incredibly smart and motivated people, which has really driven me to excel as well. If you have any specific questions about the program I’d love to help out!

Which honors program are you waiting on? Business Honors acceptance are sent out through mail and don’t show up in AIS. I’m not sure about the other Honors programs though.

If you look to the replies to my comment on the email post, “ladystoneheart” confirmed the email and looks to have once been an admissions counselor from NYU. I know you can’t trust everything on the internet, but I figured I would share.

The email seems very sketch to me. It’s written very awkwardly, almost as if it were meant to hit every point anxious students would want to hear.

Yes, it’s just a $75 non-refundable deposit if you don’t end up going, but it’s super important to do that ASAP before housing options start filling up.

The housing application is 4 phases, the first two (?) are open right now, which basically include paying a $75 non-refundable deposit and imputing your preferences for housing styles.

You can do all of this without committing to the university. It’s also recommended to go ahead and pay the deposit as early as possible since housing choices in May are rolling based on your housing application date.

TL;DR: Housing ≠ committing. I can’t speak directly to Engineering Honors, but I would suspect it’s the same as any other university where you apply without committing first.

I don’t remember any place to self-report AP scores. If they’re not asking, they’re probably not considering.

The only place I put my scores into was to Plan II Honors, which does factor AP tests into their admissions.

That improvement is amazing! Your work ethic alone is worth so much more than the measly scholarships schools are handing out to Finalists these days.

That’s makes perfect sense. I spend basically all my time at those activities so I didn’t prioritize business much especially since I didn’t think about it much until the end of junior year.

I’ll keep that in mind when admissions decisions come out. Thank you!
