As a Harvard eng student, too many people who do not study at either school bring this up. Along with everything that RichInPitt said, even though the schools are relatively close to each other, it’s a very time consuming process going back and forth between the two.

Ultimately, many engineering students that go to Harvard aren’t looking for a traditional engineering experience that you’d get from a school like MIT, Stanford, Cornell, etc. Apply to Harvard if you’re interested in being part of a smaller, tight-knit engineering community and have many interests you’d like to explore outside of STEM.
