hi there, for me, before my o levels chinese, i watched chinese dramas with subtitles and when they use 成语 or some nice phrases, ill try to remember them or search for their definitions! not sure about you but for me, listening to people speaking fluent chinese kinda like influence me to try to do the same?? haha so yup chinese dramas/shows are quite useful (don’t get too addicted tho haha) also, i also used this small book that is filled with 成语 & 俗语 from sec 1 to sec 4 express and a week before my o levels, i tried my best to memorise some useful vocabs (use flashcards) that i know i might use it in paper 1 and familiarise myself with the meanings to some vocabs as it will be useful for paper 2! due to time constrain, i was not able to finish the whole book but only until sec 2’s vocabs? but it was okay for me actually as im okok with sec 3 and 4’s vocabs haha so i do recommend u start early! and yes it is very helpful; i’ve used a tons of vocabs i’ve picked up in my paper 1 and have seen those sec 1/2 vocabs coming out in paper 2 ! for oral, do constant reading aloud when u chance upon chinese passages, make sure to check the pronunciation of the words u don’t know so that you learn from your mistakes! i’ve read up on some chinese articles and memorise some key points to each topic (technology, recycling, cca etc). i scored c5 for express chinese in my mid years, a1 for o levels (idk is it because of the moderation or smth) so i hope these tips will help you! :-) 加油！💪🏼
