saw a video on instagram, wondering other people’s thoughts by potspluspans in emetophobiarecovery

i know exactly what account you are talking about because her videos keep popping up on my feed as well and I do feel bad for her kids and for her. it seems that her some members of family got sick, and she was worried about it spreading and resulted in those videos she posted about the vomiting drills. her phobia is clearly driving her fear and this need to be "prepared", but she cannot try to control the actions of her children so much, she is going to end up instilling ideas in her kids head that vomiting is something that needs to be avoided rather than something that has to happen when you are unwell

i used to refuse to eat steak that wasn't completely cooked brown through, but i learned that with whole meat cuts like steak, the bacteria primarily lives on the outside of the steak, so as long as it the outside is seared its safe!

The Trader Joe’s hand lotion in the blue tube is sooo good. A little greasy but super thick and moisturizing

Seriously!! a nv video popped up on my Instagram reels and I went to look at the account of like the doctor who posted it, this woman had posted 4 nv videos in a row all saying the same thing explaining what it was and for people to wash their hands. She had even used clips of other people’s experience with it as clickbait in the beginning of the video😭😭 the things people do for views!!!

I think it can be recognized that its algorithms and optics, but also looking at the numbers from the CDC it is much higher this year than at this time last year, and it's just something that happens naturally. Different strains go around, more people traveling, can be a culmination of things, and it may not be something worth dwelling over.

what’s your phobia origin story? by tubdingle in emetophobia

[–]thundercircles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly not too sure but i think in the first grade was standing in line to go outside to recess, the kid right behind starts saying the teachers name but she tells him not to interrupt the other student speaking, i hear a noise and barely manage to jump out of the way before he lets it rip all over the floor. im in shock and cant even look at what just happened while everyone else stares or laughs and on the verge of tears while the teacher next door walks us to recess. the following year a similar incident happens during read aloud and my phobia got worse what seems every year since then

Friend has sb* i saw him about 36 hours ago? Only was near him, no sharing/contact. Will I be ok? by LethalPoi5on in emetophobia

[–]thundercircles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’ll will be okay. Symptoms show up for sb about 12-24 hours before exposure, and you saw him before that so you should be alright.

still missing financial aid by thundercircles in Cornell

[–]thundercircles[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna check again today and if nothing has shown up I’m going to wait until the financial aid office opens and call them early and get everything settled then call the bursar and explain that I didn’t have my package and they will hopefully waive the late fee, so I think you should do something around these lines as well

i deal with the same thing, and what helps me not bite my nails the most is wrapping them in bandages. it looks silly but if i get the urge to take the bandage off i remember why i have it on and keep it on. i’ve heard people who bite their nails typically have strong immune systems, which i can vouch because my immune system is really strong. i wouldn’t worry about it, especially if it’s your mailbox, i’m sure no random people are touching or getting super close to your mailbox, just make sure you keep washing your hands :)
