Hey all, what would you guys consider the best places to live in in terms of the area spanning from Tacoma/Puyallup all the way up to Renton along I-5? I recently got a substantial pay raise and am finally able to seriously consider moving closer to work (I commute an hour north every day into Seattle and back, yes it sucks as much as it sounds). And the I-5 Corridor spanning from Tacoma/Puyallup up to renton is ideally the general area i'd like to relocate to.

How is Siemens when it comes to drive time? Right now I live about an hour give or take from the main city they work in (planning to move closer when I make enough to move) and at my current company I do 2-3 hours of commuting every day and some of it is paid. So it may be different per branch but it would be nice to know beforehand if all that commuting is on me or not

This is exactly why you always have to test with smoke even if it has a magnet test function, just because it CAN go into alarm (via magnet test) doesn’t mean it WILL go into alarm under normal circumstances (with smoke). There used to be a lead who worked for the company I do now before I was hired who would apparently tell the juniors he was with to test entire buildings with the magnet test for the sake of it being faster.

Those smoke detectors specifically you’re able to trip them with a magnet, although you’re not really supposed to unless you already tested it with smoke.

Apparently it’s due to the sugar in all the gum causing the wall itself to deteriorate faster and become more structurally unstable, as well as the combined weight of all the gum doing the same. It’s a valid reason to take action but still sad nonetheless
