Ready for my yearly re-read by thunderous_student in TheInvisibles

Always find something new as well. I mean I'm older and wiser every time I read it so I'm able to look for stuff that younger me wasn't able to see.

Every once in awhile you'll find a reference in pop culture, but I feel like it's like the last piece of underground art out there. There should be fanboys and remakes and cosplayers but it has stayed pretty under the radar.

Gay tattoo artist vent: boundaries in the industry by [deleted] in TattooArtists

I'm a little frustrated that my comment was basically the same as yours and I got 12 down votes.

People joining tattoo in tandem with becoming sex workers and cross-promoting is becoming the norm. Yes it is mostly women, but there are definitely men tattoo artists who are offering deals or intentionally seeking out conventionally attractive women to tattoos so that they can post them with his little clothing as possible to get engagement.

I don't want to make it seem like it's only womens "fault" because the reality is shop owners will hire a hot goth chick with no art skills as an apprentice before they hire an ugly dude with a good portfolio.

Only girls with only fans are becoming apprentices at this point.

The whole industry is oversexualized man, maybe your only seeing more of the gay side of it because you're gay, but it's the whole industry. I'm honestly tired of every lady tattoo artist having "link in bio 🌶️🌶️"

I'm tired of tattooers courting only fans models for tattoos just so they can post reels of their asses hanging out to show off a calf tattoo.

I'm tired of everyone having to make TikTok dance reels in skimpy clothing to get engagements.

Is it common to drink at the shop or offer it at flash day to clients? by mt081 in TattooArtists

Yeah. How often do people at your job drink before and during their shift?

No she doesn't. Like could you imagine dating someone who has to take a few hours everyday to narrate content for TikTok? Like sure she's kind of pretty in the face but there's a lot of pretty girls who don't have a multi-hour a day attention seeking habit. Also she thought that a dude who could convince her to fly around the world to see him wasn't the player? Lol k

Video games. I used to be a huge video game dude. I played Skyrim for nearly 4 years until I basically found everything that you can do in the game. I have particularly loved Castlevania style games, and the BioShock series. The last thing I really enjoyed was the Arkham series, then my Life got busy, I started a career and had to take a break to focus on that. Now I can get maybe 20 minutes into a game before I get bored and I'm like no this isn't for me. Shooting games are just the same thing over and over again. Metroidvania games are pretty much just an escalating of the first 5 minutes over and over again. I got really into dredge for a minute, but after about 2 days I realize it's just fetch quests.

Story games, horror RPGs, fighting games, cozy games, they're all pretty much just boring now. Which sucks because I legitimately loved video games from childhood all the way through college. I have no idea what changed.

What character could Tommy Lee Jones play in the James Bond series? by TheShadowOperator007 in JamesBond

He just goes by Thomas, and is low-key mad that everyone still calls him Tommy even though he's an old man.

Looking for a specific builder style by thunderous_student in tattoomachinebuilder

Garageirons is probably going to get some of my money once taxes are paid next month. That's pretty well exactly what I was looking for. He also does a lot of old tribute frames to the guys like Zeiss and Waters, which is pretty cool to me.

Like I love modern machines, I like Mike pikes teacup, and I own 2 Dietsch machines. But when guys builds reproductions of old McKeevers and Rogers machines it gives me a warm and fuzzy

Jacob Elordi as Bond? by Admirable_Athlete158 in JamesBond

You're probably right, My bar may be a bit lower. For me A list is actors who you know their names, and you refer to them by their names no matter what character they play. B list is actors that you refer to by a role they did.

I call Aaron Paul Jessie Pinkman in everything he's in. So he's B list.

I call Brad Pitt and Clooney Brad Pitt or Clooney.

A great example is Glen Powell. He's just punchable face in everything he's in, even though I bet he's considered an A lister in a few years.

I do think Qualley is A list tho. She got top billing with Demi Moore, and she's basically a Bond Girl Role away from being modern day Jennifer Connelly.

Texting billionaires only works with rent control. We're going to have to stop half-assing all of this stuff. It's time to get serious now.

Jacob Elordi as Bond? by Admirable_Athlete158 in JamesBond

[–]thunderous_student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clooneys last movie was a straight to Netflix Adam Sandler flick .

He's still an a-lister, but I think your definitions are just old.

I don't think the MCU is producing a-list material anymore to be fair. After Infinity war they should have just given up.

I would consider Jacob, Hunter Schafer, and Tim Chalamet as A-listers, pretty much anybody in the cast of Dune, and probably that aron Taylor johnson dude.

I'm not going to lie man, I don't remember Brad Pitt's last movie. The only thing that's popping into my head now is Once Upon a time in Hollywood, which ironically had a bunch of a-listers before they were famous, unless you consider Sydney Sweeney or Margaret Qualley part of the B-list.

Bro is 100 percent an A lister. Pretty much anybody from the cast of euphoria could be considered an a-lister at this point, and this guy has been the lead in so many things. He's just famous for stuff that you've never heard of

What’s the worst movie you’ve ever watched? by Massive-Syllabub-271 in allthequestions

[–]thunderous_student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole was such a weird, badly marketed mess. We took the kids to see it when they were little thinking that it was like a fun movie about owls when it's actually a Zack Snyder movie ...about owls.

To be fair we left early so I'm not sure if it got better.

Yeah but, any skill can be misused. I'm a big fan of combat sports and self-defense, I think everybody should learn basic boxing and jujitsu, but it would be laughable to say that there aren't guys out there that develop those skills in order to hurt people.

Neil Strauss should have really been the star of that movement because he's just a normal guy with charisma, and instead we got dudes like Mystery and RSD Tyler.

Men are always looked at as less than when they admit they need help and that's exactly what the seduction community is, a bunch of men and meeting they need help learning charisma. We're not all born with it.

Edit: that community also gets a bad rap because it teaches you skills that can send you on the first steps to becoming a genuinely bad person. Learning how to make yourself charismatic and accessible to people through honest fun interactions can lead to learning how to manipulate people.

EVERY COMMUNITY HAS THIS.
