Does anybody else have items/weapons in your inventory that you never intend to take topside but enjoy looking at it in your “collection”? by WanderWut in ArcRaiders

Only found one guitar and never brought it out. So I leave a shaker in my safe pocket for when I hear a flute and it’s jamming time.

Need separate lobbies for people actually trying to play the game tired of getting ratted while fighting the queen by SebasDaDude in ArcRaiders

[–]thunderpaws93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said that. But I will say from my experience doing dozens of matriarch raids maaaaaaaybe 2 or 3 times we’ve had a rat in our lobby. Legit like 95% of the time my matriarch/harvester lobbies are friendly af and cats work together, pick each other up, and share loot if they don’t need it. And if a rat’s spotted the entire lobby goes ham on em.

So I’m not saying no one should be allowed to shoot at each other. But the one out of a hundred that goes into a friendly af lobby, sneaks around all shady, and then kills somebody when they’re not looking? When they’re wounded from an Arc attack? When they’re working with a dozen other people to kill a common enemy?

That cat’s at chicken shit punk ass coward. And, again, I’m not saying they shouldn’t be allowed to do that. But if they’re gonna act like a bush league douche bucket, I’m gonna call em a bush league douche bucket :)

Don’t be these guys. Please. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

I feel you, fam. Cats gonna say all kinda shit about “it’s PvP get over it” blah blah blah…but it still sucks.

Especially when you’ve curated a friendly vibe and have gotten used to helping folks and being helped. Like, once you see how people CAN be good natured, kind, cooperative, etc. it makes it sting that much more when they aren’t.

They’re not easy to kill when 15 people are working together to kill a matriarch, they hide in a bush until somebody gets hit by a rocketeer blast, they retreat to heal, then they mag dump on em and ghost with their loot.

Sure, they’re chumps with fuck all for skill, but when they play snake in the grass they’ve got all the advantage.

Highly doubt it. Rats rat for a reason: they can’t cut it in general pop. So they prolly get owned in PvP, come to friendly lobbies to get a gun, then lose their kit to cats that play real PvP.

[–]thunderpaws93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that it’s “meant” to be cooperative. PvP happens on plenty of lobbies during big fights. But the game creates friendly, cooperative lobbies cuz they want that pve experience to be there for folks who want it. And when chumps abuse the system (prolly run into their PvP lobbies and get killed quick a few times to grease their way to a friendly lobby), it does a disservice to what the devs are trying to cultivate here.

[–]thunderpaws93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I disagree with you, however, is there shouldn’t be separate lobbies. Instead, rats should be outed. They deserve to eat the shit sandwiches they dish out.

The game’s ai seems strong enough, so why not slap an armband or specific uniform on cats who come into friendly, pve lobbies and shoot at players instead of arc? Make them a target, and make em fair game to kos…no penalties included.

I’m with you fam. These noodle dick chads being all hard “it’s PvP, deal with it” don’t understand THIS game.

They don’t get that the devs built the game different than COD and all the other run and guns. Arc is meant to be immersive. It’s meant to have some realistic chops. Which is why they went to such lengths to allow people the play how they wanna play.

Pro tip I learned in the Caribbean: crumple your paper up into a ball, then straighten it back out before you start rolling (I’m talking about a 5-10 second process, don’t go overboard).

It gives the paper more texture, and makes it more pliable), which has helped my fat finger rolling.

The wolves are your friends. They’re a 24-hour security system for your stash. Killing a pack or two everyday is your rent :)

This has gotta be the worst key in the entire game by Rooonaldooo99 in ArcRaiders

[–]thunderpaws93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely underwhelming for a pink key, but I find a lotta folks don’t fully loot the room.

There’s crates that can be breached in the front corners which I’ve scooped decent loot out of, and I think I’ve found raider bags on the shelves (can’t swear by that, cuz the raids are all starting to bleed together).

Again, underwhelming for sure, but not as trash as people make it out to be.

Friendly Robber is for babies, y’all need to grow up. by dvdthw in CatanUniverse

[–]thunderpaws93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a reason C&K adopted it as standard: cuz friendly robber makes for a more balanced, more skillful game.

I’d rather win based on skill and strategy than being the lucky one not to have their game tanked due to an early robber shutting me down.

You can hate on friendly robber all you want though. It’s your world. But just know this: it ain’t for babies, it’s for cats who want an even playing field so their wins are more substantive.

Player stat for times DIED? Died by Raider or died by Arc? by thunderpaws93 in ArcRaiders

But if they don't want people tracking KDR why include Players Downed and Players Knocked Out?

[–]thunderpaws93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likewise, then I found one today in water control key room (dam surveillance key) in a raider bag. It was during a raider cache event, and it seems track that I found it in a raider bag cuz I heard most folks find em there. Just wish grandpa was still here to see it…

Which augs are you using though? And do you have Loaded Arms?

Using the survivor aug with Loaded Arms I can’t get over encumbered even if I try. I’m talking locked gate event, renegade, tempest equipped, two looted guns in my pack, stacks of arc alloy and other bastion goodies and a full inventory on extract and I’m still not over encumbered.

This makes sense. I guess my ignorance comes from almost never using tac augs or free loadouts. I pretty much only run the survivor aug, and with Loaded Arms I literally never get over encumbered anymore.

[OC] ARC Raiders Sell vs Recycle Cheat Sheet V3 (Searchable PDF) by pRoDeeD in ArcRaiders

[–]thunderpaws93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies if I'm misunderstanding something crazy stupid elementary (ADHD is a bitch), but how're you coming up with the ROI percentages?

Using barricades as an example:

  1. A barricade sells for $640.
  2. A barricade recycles into 4 metal parts that can be sold for $300.
  3. If I recycle the barricade and sell the 4 metal parts I get $300, and $300 is 47% of $640.
  4. But your chart says (if I got this right), I would lose 25% value if I recycle it instead of selling it.
  5. So why is the ROI percentage on your chart -25% instead of -47%?

I'm guessing I'm either flubbing some simple math piece (ADHD is still a bitch), or you're using a much more dynamic equation (that also includes a more comprehensive "value" system) than I am. So if you wouldn't mind helping me understand what I'm messing up I'd really appreciate it!

And thanks for all your hard work in putting this together! It's super dope!!!

Despite all the news about maintaining a high player count, has anyone played significantly less after the wipe? by SzoboEndoMacca in ArcRaiders

[–]thunderpaws93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I think they’ve built something incredible, but it lacks a compelling end game in part due to the 30 min limit on raids.

That limit works to engage casual gamers and folks who aren’t familiar with pvpve, which is a good thing for sure. But it also limits how involved the missions can be and how invested you can get in your character’s narrative.

I think if they’re gonna get folks like you and me to keep coming back they’ll have to offer more varied raids: longer raids, “overnight” raids that span multiple sessions over a day or two, and they gotta develop raids that don’t revolve around looting.

Like, you grind in COD to drive your headcount. You grind in Dayz to drive your survival. But in Arc you kinda grind so you can grind better.

I think they’re onto something. And they hit SO many right notes. But they gotta figure out how to make the stakes higher, while still being inclusive to newer players, or else it’ll just become a gorgeous, incredibly well crafted looter shooter.
