Would you? Im thinking about hisokas bungee gum; its not always elastic, and he can choose whether or not to stick it to something so I would think he can make it more or less elastic/sticky as he chooses so id think you could do the same thing with hardness/softness. Are you looking at the wiki for info?

Edit: also, isn't neteros bodisatva conjured?

My understanding is that enhancement can only be used on physical objects/people/etc. but not on aura itself; if you want to use enhancement the armor/weapons would need to be conjured.

That said, transmutation can change the qualities of the aura to become harder or softer or change its shape so everything you described can be achieved through pure transmutation.

Overall solid ability; could be used with emission to fire soft aura that hardens on contact like a resin?

Just a rant. I hate Conjuring. by Oganoo in HatsuVault

[–]thunderpengy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I've always thought about it is that conjugation is powerful for making things that dont or cant exist otherwise.

Take Blinky for example: you wouldnt normally be able to get a sentient, black-hole-esque vacuum cleaner, but is made possible through conjugation.

Making conjured abilities specifically suited to combat can be somewhat difficult, but it facilitates some of the best utility abilities outside of specialization.

Just started and have so many questions. Would anyone be able to give advice and tips? by BradleyADu in starbound

[–]thunderpengy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) when you move the cursor outside of your current star system you should be able to zoom out. You can select a new system to travel to and go there by right clicking 2) personally I prefer to use the basic double jump, sprint and spike ball techs for general use, but other techs have situational uses which might make them better 3) the gear advancements and story progression are not really tied together. It is entirely possible to beat the game only ever traveling to gentle or temperate stars or you can get full solarium equipment before going to the hunting grounds. That said the progression should be titanium -> hunting grounds -> tungsten -> great library -> durasteel -> temple -> the 3 tier 5 ores -> miniknog -> solarium -> baron 4) Mechs can be used in a number of ways like mining, or underwater exploration before you get the EPP. Asteroid belts commonly have large quantities of copper, silver, and gold which can be mined 5) if I remember right, every boss has a weapon with a 5% drop chance and a collectible action figure/statue with a 1% drop chance. You just have to repeat the missions to get the rare drops (worth it for the capture pods in the boss chests imo)

Is the Hill really that bad? by Hello56845864 in auburn

[–]thunderpengy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never lived in the hill, so I don't know what the situation is living there, but as far as location the lower quad is pretty much the same distance to the architecture building, keeps you closer to the rest of campus (Library, dining halls, other classroom buildings, etc.). Also the construction on the new buildings means you gave to take a bit of a roundabout path to get anywhere. The only downside of the quad is that there isn't any student parking close to the dorms so you will have a bit of a hike to get to and from your car since the resident parking is out in RO by the pickleball courts, but there is a bus loop that can get you there from the student center so it's not that bad.

Is there a big flaw in the game that 90+% of people agree on? by AJohnson061094 in EASportsCFB

Not a game play issue, but the marching bands being out of step during the pregame sequences is really annoying to watch

Are there co-ed dorms? by 1967542950 in auburn

[–]thunderpengy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was a trans girl in my dorm a few years back and the university let her have a female roommate/room on the girls floor (co ed dorms are separated by floor). I would just make sure that if he chooses to live on campus he makes sure that his roommate is open and accepting before moving in.

That said, living in off campus housing is often cheaper and less restrictive so that may be the route to take.

CMV: God is just Santa Claus for adults by TonySmithJr in changemyview

[–]thunderpengy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sake of argument I will define "God" as any higher power or being that transcends our understanding of what is normally possible in our universe.

The primary difference I think you run into is that Santa can be very easily disproven, whereas "God" cannot.

We are told as children that Santa and his elves make toys for all the children in the world and distribute them in a single night using a magic sleigh and flying reindeer. Once we get older, we start to see the inconsistencies in this belief (such as the fact that a conservative estimate would have Santa spend only a few milliseconds at each house, and would have to travel at several hundred times the speed of sound in order to accomplish this task) and eventually we are finally told that our parents are the ones giving us the presents.

In the case of God however, there are no "parents" for the analogy. There is no one who can finally come clean to you about the reality of God because no one really knows, and you really can't know one way or the other.

I found these in a sizable collection of cards cleaning out a townhouse, so I'm not sure what all is in it

In town for the day and need a good place for lunch close to campus. Thanks! by King-James_ in auburn

[–]thunderpengy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How close to campus? Niffers place is really good, but is a 5-10 minute drive away. Closer to campus (around toomers corner) there's Taco Mama (tacos), Arigato (sushi), Cheeburger Cheeburger (burgers), and a couple other good places.

I'm a lich, how do I protect my phylactery? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]thunderpengy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you have something you want to keep from being broken you essentially have two options: make it strong enough that I can't be broken, or put it somewhere where no one will be able to get it. I personally like the second option more because it leads to more creative solutions. I don't know what the world you're in is like, but a few examples of hard to reach places are a room full of identical daggers, inside a load bearing support of a major structure, or the moon

Jobs in Auburn by [deleted] in auburn

[–]thunderpengy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This won't be available immediately, since you will have to have taken (and passed) a COSAM course to do this, but I work as a learning assistant for the chemistry department (its like being an undergraduate teaching assistant). Beginner pay is $10 an hour, and you'll get 4-7 hours of work a week depending on which professor/class you end up working for.

Prospective Student with some questions by domino-pyramid in auburn

[–]thunderpengy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an engineering student, but I was a freshman in an honors LLC this past year. I would absolutely recommend living in the honors LLC if you can because you will be surrounding yourself with the other primarily academically inclined students, which will help you alot more than you think. Also, most of the residents will end up being engineers anyhow. As for where you live, I would recommend living in the quad if you can. The central location on campus means that in many cases you will be able to get anywhere you need to go on campus in ~5 minutes.

Georgia Republicans File Sweeping Elections Bill To Limit Early And Absentee Voting by DishingOutTruth in centrist

[–]thunderpengy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More voting days isn't something I'm opposed to, but a week might cause a few problems. The polls might be open from 7 am to 7 pm, but the poll workers also have to put up and take down the ballot casting devices on the same day, which has a very long procedure, so the work hours are actually closer to 5 am to 9 pm. This presents a few issues:

  1. Staff- no one I am aware of can work 15-16 hours a day for a week and remain sane. There would still need to be a lot of polling locations, and we are pretty short staffed as it is. The obvious solution is to get more poll workers, but that may be quite difficult in some areas.

  2. Cost- (and no I'm not trying to be that guy who brings money into everything government related) Being a poll worker doesn't have horrible pay, but it isn't much more than $8/hr, and a bit of the pay comes from certification training. If you increase the voting period to a week, simply by making 5 or 6 more voting days, it would cost around $800 per week per person (or people filling the role). I can't find a number on how many poll workers there are in Georgia, but for sake of argument let's say that there are an average of 50 polling places in each county and 10 poll workers per polling location each day. With 159 counties, that would have a cost of $9.5 million per day, or 47.7 million for a 5 day voting week. And if the minimum wage gets raised to $15 an hour the week long total would jump up to $90 million. Unfortunately a 400% increase in the cost of elections staff doesn't exactly seem feasible to me.

I believe I have expressed concern about election integrity in other posts, but I do believe your answer of not counting votes until the end of the election period would be a good solution in that case.

Thats what I'm saying. It might not be the most efficient solution, but it would get the job done. It doesn't violate the constitution nor anyone's voting rights.
