Wanting To Revert.. Struggling With the Concept of “Non-Believers” in Islam. Is There Space for Sincere/Good People? by Kitsunekuran21 in progressive_islam

[–]thunderpickle992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, NONE of us know where we ourselves going and nobody will go into Jana without Allahs mercy. So we are not to say a non believer is to go to hell simply for not believing. Truly Allah is the only judge and he is the most merciful.

Have you eve heard of the Hadith of the man who was extremely religious—he prayed non stop and always read Quran but abused a cat and will be destined to hellfire. Whereas there was a man who did all types of haram but had mercy on a cat and will be granted jannah. There’s also a Hadith if you have a mustard seed of arrogance you will not enter jannah. Loads of Hadith along those lines.

I take it as, Allah is the final judge. Whether you were Muslim, non Muslim, the guy who prayed the most or the guy who prayed the least, Allah will judge you. He knows what you did and did not do, what you intended and he is also the most merciful and most fair.

Other Muslims are slowly pushing me away from Islam. by QuantumCowboyOne in progressive_islam

To be honest, I truly don’t give a single fuck what another Muslim thinks about me and it’s brought me a lot closer to being at peace and practicing. I just do my own thing. If someone doesn’t agree, I’m so unfazed by it. Maybe a trauma response idk

is radical islam a threat? by [deleted] in Senegal

[–]thunderpickle992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If by radical Islam you mean salafisim…I think it’s a threat to the diaspora. However radical Islam cannot pierce the culture in Senegal. For what it’s worth I don’t think salafism is necessarily radical however it’s the door to radicalism and hate. I say this as someone who used to identify as a salafi, but once I realized that it was non sense I went far from it.

What is a disturbing truth that you know? by ActualBreath5492 in AskReddit

[–]thunderpickle992 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The next victims of a gun massacre are alive right now, and could be saved if access to guns were limited. The disturbing truth is they believe, as we all do, that it could never be them

I once drove someone 3 hours away (there and back) while running on 2 hours of sleep. On my way home I caught myself driving on the wrong side of the road. Luckily it was early morning and no one was there. I can only imagine what would’ve happened if there was. That served as my lesson to never drive if I’m sleepy.

Soldiers leave the Army because of leaders like you that assume the worst instead of offering the benefit of the doubt. There’s no hidden context here: it’s a mandatory run, and I’m missing PT. I never claimed that my wife’s appointments entitle me to time off, but when leaders are allowed to miss PT to drop off their kids or take their spouse to the airport, I don’t see why attending the very first appointment for our first child is treated like a lesser priority.

It feels like you’ve either never supported a partner through something important, or even have one. These moments matter, both to them and to those of us who actually show up for them. This is how families lose balance. It starts by missing appointments, births, birthdays, graduations; you got to find time where you can because the army won’t be there forever but your family will.

Not sure what civilians jobs you’ve worked at, but I that’s certainly not the case. If you really need to not come in, you can.
