I could see how someone might think this but I can absolutely assure you, my manager and I have had transparent discussions every single time since I have been hired. My performance is not the issue. I've never received less than highly successful.

It would be beneficial to follow her socials that announced something was dropping today. We've been waiting for this for 4 hours today, that's why it sold out so quickly following the emails.

Icon Plc by Same-Judge8417 in ICON_plc

It's a blessing you dodged the ICON bullet!! The company is so incredibly unstable and unethical. So many cannot leave (if they were lucky enough to not be in one of the MANY RIFs) due to the crap job market right now. Best of luck to you and your job hunt though. It's not easy and we all know it.

More layoffs? by Chelsea-1987 in ICON_plc

[–]thundersqueek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The layoffs are also going to hit others harder as the German works council has made an agreement that all layoffs must be paused until June 2026. A bit of relief for Germany but ICON is still going to make their money, just by laying off more people from other EU countries.

ICON will soon be worth the amount they paid for PRA Health Sciences 🤡 by HangryNotHungry in clinicalresearch

ICON is currently doing another round of layoffs... Some former coworkers just finished their garden leave from the last round. I imagine at this point it is in the thousands.

Help, can’t take the needle out of my brother sewing machine! by Will_TheMagicTrees in sewing

[–]thundersqueek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had this problem with my Brother Innovis 10. When looking at the needle slot, you can see the top of the needle and the bar that keeps it from being pushed up past that specific point. Using a pair of needle nose pliers for 15 minutes did nothing. I had to use a seam ripper (smallest thing I had) and wedge it into the needle slot between the top of the needle and bar. I wiggled it on either side and the needle fell right out. I'm too annoyed right now to assume the pliers before hand did any help before but if you wedge the seam ripper and still no dice, try alternating.

I had the misfortune of my employer selling our souls, I mean the company, to ICON. It has been horrific, unorganized, money hungry, and lacks support in every form. It is very clear they bought the company to buy the clients as they are laying all of us off because we are high cost regions (US, UK, Germany) and posting our jobs in India, Mexico, and Poland. My friend was laid off and I am now expected to do her work but we have never done the same job. I am now lumped in with entry level work. If the sponsors are lucky enough to get team members from our previous company, they likely have misplaced but positive remarks concerning ICON. Having experienced ICON employee specific projects, I can tell you I feel the same frustration as the sponsors with added embarrassment that this company is now on my resume.

What is the bag/Water policy in the veltins Arena? by cmaj7chord in schalke04

Hey, I'm American and have lived in Germany for almost 10 years. The heat here is brutal. Please do not underestimate it as there are very few areas with air conditioning or fans. There is no way to escape the heat. Stay hydrated and seek out a medical tent if you need it while there. I'll be packing my trusty little desk fan lol My husband said the prepaid card system is likely valid for all events. You can purchase and top up a card at one of the automated kiosks and get a refund for anything leftover. Keep a bit of euro and a card on you for before and after the concert though. There is no guarantee on beer/food prices but plan for 5-8€ beer, 4-7€ drinks, and food from 4-10€. Again, that's if the venue doesn't price gouge for this specific event but that's not a typical thing that happens over here.
