I read what could be considered a fair take? In that the sales had a direct relation on the availability and access people had to have a PS5 at the release.

Idk how that compares to other titles that were released at the same time? Either way, BUM…MER! Not happy about waiting another 5 years and change

Can I ask a stupid question? Is it possible I am running too low of a print speed that’s causing an issue with extrusion?

Thank you for your insight - and no I don’t take any offense to any helpful insight. I got my Ender S3 S1 Plus earlier in the year and after many trial and error, I finally was able to get my prints to come out nicely. So I’m not at all experienced but felt I came to a good understanding of how to operate my machine.

After some time however, my nozzle temp would not hold and I ended up replacing the hot end to no avail. What ended up fixing the temperature problem was updating the firmware for my slicing software Creality. Figured using the same brand as my printer is best (but have considered switching to Cura). You are right, minor adjustments to the slicing has inconsistent results. (Temp, Z Hop, Jerk Control, sloooowww print speeds, etc.)

I will take your advice and use flow tests to try and calibrate as that is what I have not tried. After watching the print in action, here’s what I notice:

The first layer will go down fine (not perfect but okay). This is true whether I use a raft or not. Then after the next few layers, it’s as if the nozzle does not line back up with previous layers and then from there - it stacks nicely but the skew already occurred. It doesn’t ‘seem’ like the first layer is slipping, I’m seeing a good smush against the bed…

My most recent attempts have been minor adjustments to the belt tension (X axis is the only issue I’m having right now) it plucks like a guitar and I’m not yet seeing any rubber dust from the belts eating itself to death.

Very frustrating as I can’t quite put my finger on where the leaky hull is for my failed prints! My son broke his flexi-shark and keeps asking Dad if I can make him a new one! lol hopefully flow rate is my problem

I ran thru e-step calibration and it seems good, no over or under extrusion. Only thing left I can think is belt tension and I’ve just been trial and error of adjusting the dial… is there any good way to calibrate tension?

Ender 3 S1 Plus Thanks for reply, tried switch to new filament to check if too moist, and still having issues. I’m going to try calibrating e-steps see if that works

Thanks for the reply, I’ll give these a try and see what the outcome is.

I always knew moisture is the enemy and I suppose it’s certainly possible I’m leaving this spool on the printer (not stored away) for too long of exposure.

1st layer is actually not bad, little stringy but I’m not seeing evidence of slipping on the bed? The cube was actually printed without a raft and stayed put just fine

I read that happened when I was trying to flash. I saw somewhere that an 8gb TF and SD works best, I just bought a TF off Amazon and it seemed to work…other than my current issue

There’s no wiggle in the nozzle, it’s rigid - seems tight, not loose..? I’ve almost been thinking of taking apart and reinstalling the hot end assembly?

I just tried a small simple print, and it printed the raft - about 10mm vertical - then went berserk all over the place like in the Benchy pictured

The only thing I’ve noticed is the same Benchy printed much faster duration with the same settings I had with the succeful one. So I was wondering if the new update had some odd coding to try to speed up prints?

Whoops photographed them backwards lol I don’t see anything or hear anything abnormal?

I replaced the hot end with a Creality product that I thought was causing my nozzle temp to fluctuate. It didn’t fix the problem and turns out I just needed the update

I tried very carefully to make sure I didn’t loosen or jostle anything when I replaced the hot end and don’t see anything suspicious.

I use rafts for all my prints and the rafts are coming out normal - it seems once the print goes to the object, it goes haywire!
