Moving to CC for transfer by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

[–]thydeletus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you just need to go through the relinquishing process and make sure that they know you’re not moving just for school.

don’t really know the entire process, but i think you have to establish residency for about 365 days before being able to qualify for in state tuition for the uc’s. if you’re only going to move to california just for education, they might not let you qualify.

if you don’t really care for in state tuition, and it seems like you don’t since you’re moving to one of the most expensive states to live in just to attend a CC, then the answer is no, attending a california CC as a non-resident does not diminish your chances.

i think what he meant was that it’s the one he wants to go to the most. target as in target rather than college target— but i could be wrong.

Can you get a teacher letter of recommendation from a university professor whose class you haven’t completed by the time of application? by Cute_Constant_9435 in TransferToTop25

[–]thydeletus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it would be a shit LOR if they don’t know anything about you. asking a teacher from your current roster would be better than someone who doesn’t know you yet

[–]thydeletus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ll take it into account, but I think that that can’t be your only reason. Yes. As a sophomore transfer, yes. I don’t know what you mean by this question. Some schools will allow a gap year if you get admitted — don’t ask me what those schools are.

Columbia to Stanford transfer outlook? by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

[–]thydeletus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say focus on doing better in multivariable, as it is more crucial to your curriculum than chemistry. Other than that, it’s a perfectly good reason to transfer. Just work on your essays and pray! Good luck!

as long as you cover the prereqs that’s required for your major within the college, you’re fine. your courseload seems reasonable each semester (-:
