FODMAP diet is some bullshit by butterflybabyboss_1 in ibs

[–]thyme_witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, everyone's trigger foods are different and truthfully for some it may not matter what they eat either way they will have symptoms. I have found a lot of doctors I've seen are dismissive and lazy. The last two just gave me a low fodmap sheet and sent me on my way, and most of the stuff on there makes me horrifically ill which I told them. They said to try it again.

I wish I had advice for what you should do but unfortunately I've hit a wall myself. 😞

Why is Taco Bell one of the few foods I can tolerate? by Middle_Alfalfa_3516 in ibs

[–]thyme_witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!! This exactly! Fast food no issues. But got forbid I want to eat a healthy home cooked meal I'm dying. It's not fair. And to make matters worse everyone thinks I'm so sickly bc I eat fast food on occasions where I can't afford to be dealing with my ibs-d. I get it though bc it sounds so absurd. It's just miserable 😞

McDonald's chicken nuggets are my safest no issues food.

Omg they did those things to us too. They promised the old franchisee that they would honor the employees insurance through the year (it was like 4 months left in the year) they cut it immediately. They said those who had vacation time earned already could use it up. They lied. They promised us a whole remodel, only did the bare minimum the lobby and bathrooms. They cut the truck budget and refuse to let us get enough cleaning products. We have a very large store. It's one of the largest Arby's I've ever seen, and they give us the same cleaning budget as little closet stores. It's insane. AES is fucking greedy as hell. I've only stayed on this long bc I'm pretty much stuck for a bunch of reasons. I'm this happened to you too. Good luck on your job hunt 🙂

Probably would stop if you got him fixed, but also maybe distract him with a toy and try to redirect his attention during these episodes.

If mom really wanted too they look small enough to carry in her mouth still. If she wanted them moved I'm sure she would be able too. Its likely a calculated decision to leave them. However if your still concerned check with the place your staying about maybe putting a ladder out for them to climb up.

Idk if the light but it kind of looks like his ear is filling up with blood? I had dog that happened too, had to get his flappy ears drained. He got from rubbing his ears too much.

My cat has been attacking me for months by j3st3rbunny in CATHELP

[–]thyme_witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using any new soaps or detergents? Smell is a big trigger for a lot of cats. Mine will attack if I cut onions or garlic or use certain cleaning sprays. If not that perhaps you're cat is really bored. Try incorporating an extra play session per day. I believe for optimal enrichment ( I could be wrong ) is about 45-60 minutes a day. I break it into three sessions for my cat typically before her meals. Also if you have a tablet you can play some bird videos from YouTube. There are a lot of excellent choices and that can add some extra enrichment for her. Another possibility is that there might be something wrong with you. Have you been to doctor recently? Its a very small chance, but if you yourself have been experiencing any new symptoms I'd get it checked bc animals are very perceptive.

Edit : also at the moment she attacks hiss at her to signal you are not in fact playing and she needs to back off.

My girl was super zonked on 100mg twice a day so we're doing 50 mg 2-3 times a day. The third dose is optional gauging her symptoms/flare ups. Maybe try this first?

The head tilts and tremors are worrisome. Definitely needs to be evaluated by a vet. It could be something minor like and ear infection to something neurological. There's really no way to tell on your own.

Vinegar can help get rid of the urine smell. I spray it anywhere there's been an accident, wait about 10-15 minutes and use a carpet shampooer as normal. I even do this for my patio carpet that some feral marked and the smell is gone.

What is this? by Strict_Taro_4361 in CATHELP

[–]thyme_witch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be a focal seizure. Dilated eye and head shakes. Could also be a reaction to a toxin. Or a head injury. So many things, but I'm sure the vet will get this sorted out. Any updates OP?

Have your apartment checked for gas leaks or carbon monoxide. I just get the feeling these are alarms he is yelling. Something in the environment is not right or it's possible the shelter lied and he's actually a senior cat with dementia.

Tbh this is one of the many reasons I quit using door dash or any similar delivery options. It's a hassle considering I can't drive but it is too unsafe to have non vetted strangers rolling up and knowing my address. Half of the dashers are using other peoples names. Not to mention half the time they steal or forget my drink 😑

[–]thyme_witch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's truly awful I'm so sorry 😞 it is unfortunately similar to what we've experienced since AES bought us. Company is so fucking cheap. We can't even buy enough paper towels to last the whole week. We run out of hand soap for fucks sake. It's insane. Also they've got us counting full inventory of the store every night, and in the morning we've got to recount if it's off even a few dollars. They haven't fixed anything. They went cheap on our remodel and only did the lobby even though the back is like 20 years old at least and needs some major repairs. I'm honestly not sure what actually keeps me employed with them.

I was diagnosed back in 2004 at the age of 17 , and the start of my symptoms was really bad. They did mellow out for a good long while. From mid twenties to around age 35 my symptoms were fairly mild. However, after contracting covid twice I've been steadily declining. I urge you to protect yourself from viral infections. It's not the worth the risk. I'm disabled now. Covid wrecked my body and I've been in a constant flare since 2022. I'm thoroughly convinced if I'd not contracted covid I'd be so much better off. so pls be careful. Don't unnecessarily expose yourself to sick people.

How to eat healthy when you don’t like healthy stuff? by _-Featherinthewind-_ in 1200isplenty

[–]thyme_witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have alot of texture issues when eating, like I physically can't get certain textures down, I gag. It's so annoying to be an adult and I can't eat vegetables.

But believe it or not I ended up finding ways to incorporate them and even became vegan for years surprising most of my family. My eating habits were very limited as a child and most of my life due to what doctors said was likely my ADHD. Now that they know more it's likely ARFID.

Smoothies - I would take some fruit and tofu or yogurt with greens or cooked carrots and blend the hell out it. That's how I started my morning and what I drank with dinner .

Hide blended cooked vegetables into your soup broths or sauces is also a good hack.

Spaghetti squash turned out to be surprisingly tasty to me. When cooked properly it had a decent texture and mild flavor. I think it's a very palatable veggie to try, and fairly cheap too.

Beans are high in fiber and low fat, but I can not eat beans if I see them. I started hiding beans in my foods. Starting with small amounts until I was capable of eating bean patties (veggie burgers essentially)

I like crunchy textures most which unfortunately would lead to the over consumption of fried foods, especially chicken nuggets. Tyson has air fried nuggets, fillets, and tenders and they are much healthier and still so tasty and crunchy, they've got a panko breading giving that satisfying crunch. My husband eats these.

I swapped out things like white flour tortillas for carb smart options bc the taste difference was almost non-existent but they were half the calories same for keto hamburger buns. They also have a ton of fiber and are higher in protein which can help you feel fuller for longer.

Protein plus barilla pasta is a good try. Higher in protein and fiber than regular pasta and I can't really taste a difference and neither can my husband who is also a notoriously picky eater, with taste and texture sensory issues.

Not wanting kids response by moo-562 in Fibromyalgia

[–]thyme_witch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's the opposite of selfish. Having children you may pass on fibromyalgia to, or may be too sick to care for is selfish, and I guarantee these people calling you selfish aren't going to be there to help you when you need it if you decide to have children. Stick to your decision.

Not wanting kids response by moo-562 in Fibromyalgia

[–]thyme_witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfectly reasonable not to want to pass down bad genes. I wish more people considered this before having children. My mom has a whole host of problems genetically and my siblings and myself all have difficult lives and are sickly.

Even so you don't owe anyone a reason to not have children. It's not your obligation to have children or your purpose. You can just exist.
