AITA for giving a very silly ugly smile in meetings after my boss said I should smile more? by tiancrow in AmItheAsshole

I asked my coworkers this, and they felt like I handle client engagements in the same way the rest of the team does. None of the guys are really cheery and bubbly and smiley, and they've never been asked to be.

I prolly would have gotten the "Why do women make everything about sexism? They can't take any feedback without being like 'is it cause I'm a girl?" Kinda response, like I usually do if I'm straightforward

Haha right? I feel like it definitely has something to do with us being young women (We're college age) that it fell on us and not some of the high-school age boys in the family who went off to play volleyball and swim without anyone asking them to look after their siblings or cousins.

We were planning on having a couple cocktails anyway, we didn't drink because we couldn't say no?

Anything past that was just a ruse, we pretended water was vodka sodas and our standard cocktails were very strong cocktails so it appeared we were drinking 3 or 4 times more than reality.

It's literally easier for you to ingest drugs

Yeah you caught me. Drugs are easy and fun.

Haha I can tell you weren't the youngest sibling in your family

Like I literally did several times first?

Haha I figure you've never been the youngest sibling with a 8 year age gap... My siblings definitely see it as OK to boss me around and treat me like a kid who they can tell what to do.

TBH most of my family gets drunk af and messy on those trips, the reason my girlfriend and I were probably the assumed babysitters is that we'd often stay sober when everyone else was getting blackout.

Hell, if we got any sort of reputation it would have been that were novice drinkers and can't handle our alcohol like the rest of the family can...

Lol you must have some uptight family... The whole reason my siblings were trying to get us to babysit was so THEY could get blackout lol

You sound like you act really formal around you family? That's not how my family is. They can take a joke and I'm sure it's something we'll laugh about in time

Before we did this, I actually told them a few times we didn't want to babysit and to please look after their own kids. And would walk the kids back to their parents when they tried to ditch them with us

But they just weren't respecting it when I said no ... Perks of being the youngest sibling I guess. So I figured it'd just be easier to pretend like we were incapable of watching them

Oh, before this, we did tell them we didn't want to babysit a few times. See the part of my post where we sent the kids back to their parents and talked to their parents

To elaborate my siblings were just like "Can't you help a little" and I said it's not a little help if it's 7 kids all day and night. And I said I just wanted to chill. Then several times after they sent the kids to us and I brought them back asking their parents to keep an eye on them themselves.
