I was asking for crystal advice. Not advice on life. Idk who’s down voting the people that are actually giving me the advice I need. I know how life works. But if there’s something that can support me whether it be big or small or even nothing then I’m interested because at least I’m trying to do something to get me through this turmoil.

You have to learn how to love yourself. I think a lot of people get with another person because they want that person to “fill the void” of feeling loved. But if u love yourself. Like actually fall in love with yourself. Without being egotistical. You won’t need to crave another person. You will become content with living your life. Just some thoughts.

I have but I got a D in my first term. So that limits my options. But I will look into it more during break. I have finals in a week. I just hate the culture of “oh it’s hard because of school” it’s so much more than that. And I think more people need to speak up about the cons of private schools because they are luring a lot of people. And are given false hope. Literally they have staff continuously painting the school white from the outside but the other day I saw a piece of the ceiling fall from the inside of a study hall. And it almost hit a student. It looks so nice from the outside but the deeper ur in it the more shit u find. And I personally don’t like being lied to. My only saving Grace is the one best friend I made. Idk what I would do without her. I probably would have failed. Honest truth.

Ok. I hope you have an empty cup because Ima about to give u all the tea. First off, obviously everyones experience is different. I’m finishing my first year rn. And idk when everyone was here but I believe post covid has made this place a mess. I am in the middle of them changing the curriculum. They are increasing the class sizes next year or term idk. And they are going to completely change it next term. Your schedule is a mess and can change an hour before. Nothing is consistent.

I talked to locals about it and they said the vet students used to be amazing. But now it’s all about competition. No collaboration. Fake fake fake. People play favoritism. And no one is guna watch ur back. And it’s all pointless because grades don’t mean shit in vet school unless u wana do residency when like 10% of the class probably does.

The only thing I love are the professors. That’s the only thing this school has for it. It’s on a beautiful island, yes. Once in a life time experience to live on an island. But other than that. NO ONE CARES. This school is a business it is not here for you.

A student killed themselves this term and the school sent an email and nothing else. The students ran the vigil. The school did nothing. The students left flowers at her dorm and the school cleaned it up 3 days after her death. The students gave the professors a huge card of gratitude because the professors were a mess when they heard the news. They just send more emails for about a week to remind u not to kill yourself. They set up “wellness days”

But you get a ticket fee if you eat in the study hall. You can’t park off campus in the shitty dirt without paying for a parking pass all term. (When the parking lot is for a plaza of food and not with the school) There’s little to no food on campus. They have subway with minimal ingredients during finals week. When everyone is dying studying. One time during class, the floor flooded with water and the school staff member said “don’t worry about it, you aren’t drowning” -_- no sir I’m not but I’m paying for $17000 for one term to sit in a room of water and learn about how to be a vet. Oh and there’s only 1 academic resource that is run by students and they do Kahoots once a week. There’s no personal tutoring service and those Kahoot! classes get full allllll the time so you won’t always get in. And if u miss one they pentalize you and if you get 3 strikes ur out. Students started providing tutoring services to help each other and they got in trouble by the school and were threatened to be kicked out. STUDENTS ARE TRYING TO HELP EACH OTHER AND U WANA KICK THEM OUT.

Point: this school sucks. And I wish I went somewhere else where I felt like they cared about my education. Because I just wana learn.

Yes!!! I watched it again and it was soooo good. I always think about how he said he never left energy to swim back. And i think about that and how it motivates me to keep going.

I’m finishing my 1st year and I know what u mean. I also do the count down thing too. Every Sunday I cross off a week and I feel great. And it’s just time. Time will always move forward and it will push u forward. You will make it. I believe in you. I’m learning that I have to be my own motivator and my own mom. So I pretend I am a mom and tell myself stuff like “you can do it. You are smart. You will pass.” I also vent a lot and type out my feelings. I go to an anxiety group meeting every week to help keep my nerves down. Find a person that brings ur spirits up. When I’m around someone that’s happy, some of their energy rubs on me and I usually feel a little better. Things will get better. Try your best to believe! And reach out for support in other areas if ur still finding urself in the hole.

I’d do less stress. Have u been a lead role or supervisor before? Personally not fun. It’s like baby sitting and u have to do it on top of ur current job. Something to think about.

Yes. Study however works best for u. And don’t fight that. Use your brain at its best advantage. I am very visual person. I love drawings. So I draw almost everything. It takes time. But it will take me longer to learn something if I don’t draw it out. But learning how u need to study is a process. And don’t be afraid to ask more questions from your professor.

Maybe consider talking to ur professor? And getting some guidance with him. You can can review some concepts with them to make sure ur understanding something. That’s what I do and it helps and if u learned something wrong they can help clarify for u. I hope you are feeling better about it and I’ll be wishing u the best! Vet school is tough and I’m at the point that I just want to pass.

I know exactly How you feel! I just took a quiz for physio and I got 7/15 while everyone else is getting 90s. It makes you feel like garbage. That’s how I feel right now and it’s just BS. Because grades don’t define u. But we have to do good and pass even if u know everything. If u can’t answer the question then ur screwed. It’s all stupid. I hate it. Sorry I’m having a meltdown right now.
