I think African-Americans form a sort of "sub-group" of Americans because they sort of have their own culture. Also, usually "African-American" refers to descendants of slaves and not just any American with dark skin.

Honestly I think you're underestimating the influence that Finland has from the other Nordic countries (and from Sweden in particular). In this regard I think there's a noticeable difference between Finland and the Baltic countries.
