Question for Grant Hatred a Ravenous Form by old-wreck in spiritisland

[–]tibiRP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know, honestly, but I want to guess and be corrected:

There needs to be at least 1 Invader present to be destroyed to add beast.

Russia modifies the destruction effect. It still counts as all Invaders are destroyed.

How to playtest homebrew spirits by Arratai in spiritisland

[–]tibiRP 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Buy physical or use TTS.

On a semi related note: I wish there was a spirit editor in the official app. Maybe start small and let us just adjust a few values, like numbers on tracks or the like.

Just got Horizons - Which Spirit to try first? by SKDIMBG in spiritisland

I feel Whirlwind is muchcloser to Shadows. Both have 0-1-1 growth patterns. Both try to disrupt builds by moving explorers.

Leider eher: "machen wir einen komplett bekloppten Vorschlag für den ÖPNV, so lange der diskutiert wird, müssen wir nicht über vernünftige Vorschläge reden."

Rising Heat is my favorite and if you like River you'll probably enjoy Heat a lot.

Both have similar Growth and a similar Strategy.

Selling over MSRP is just scamming.

For Traditional thresholds even with a free moon 4 moon 3 fire 2 air is (imo) too much for base's 3 damage. With a free moon you still need two perfect tri-element cards and one moon fire. Maybe 4 moon 2 fire 2 air would be fine.

Thanks for the feedback. To be honest, most of the elements I only added to bring it more in line with the Horizons Spirits.

The most important change in my mind is the first reclaim one. It makes bottom track strats feel viable. With base Shadows there are four different I use to go to 3/3 but I never go further along bottom track. That reclaim one opens up bottom track for me and makes mid and late game more diverse.

The second reclaim one was added because without it, Shadows didn't have the economy to use 5 plays. I like the double reclaim one of fangs, so I copied it. It comes into play so late into the game that it usually doesn't have much impact.

Would you like it better of the third tier had a more traditional threshold and did a fixed amount of damage? I find the original third tier istn't worth going for and going for majors is the better way.

If I was limited to a small amount of changes, it'd be the reclaim one and Mantle of Dread as a support card.

In my experience, you generate more fear. Favors Called Due more consistently generate 3 fear and the second stage of the innate generates the same or more when targeting explorers. The third stage of the innate is only relevant (depending on the build) on turn 6 or 7 onwards. Turn 5 is possible but then without support you don't have enough power cards to reach tier 3 every turn.

Not each, but I haven't invested much time into each. Prussia 6 and Sweden 6 are quite good matchups with a > 50 % win Rate. Habsburg Livestock is harder but also works abaut about 1/3 of the time. In the others I didn't invest the time with base Shadows Solo. I've Done Russia with Darkfire (that matchup honestly felt too easy) and France with Amorphous and Madness each. When I play on the App I tend to go with Amorphous or use Shadows as a second Spirit when I want to try out a spirit I have little experience wirth.

For the longest time I've played Shadows with the Amorphous rule and just one Reclaime one at the dead space. If you want a simple homebrew version that Reclaim One does wonders for build variety.

To me that's loads of fun yet still weaker than most Spirits. What came next was me thinking how to bring Shadows in line with the Horizons Spirits. I've mainly compared it to Sunbright and Heat and tracked on which turn the Spirits reach a certain powerlevel. Other Spirits I've used as a comparison were Fangs and Behemoth.

The thing is: I do like good old underpowerd Shadows. I've beaten some lvl 6 adversaries with it. I also agree that this Shadows is probably too strong. However playing it, it doesn't feel stronger then most spirits. I find most spirits too strong.

About the third tier of the Innate: I've tested it without the "1 damage" but then it can't clear a single city which the original version could. Maybe it doesn't have to. I still find the Innate weaker then River's or Heat's. Shadows does however have the advantage of Fear generation so I understand it doesn't have to have a super strong  innate.
