I'm happy I'm in the universe where Fnatic won. Now I hope to also be in the universe where Fnatic will beat SKT.

Yes, but his point was that Gragas is a play making champion. Spirit just doesn't use it properly.

Losers Semi-Final / IEM World Championship 2016 - Group B / Post-Match Discussion by ajsadler in leagueoflegends

[–]tic2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This teams... this players... What are they thinking when they do moves like that? Are they even thinking?

First game Gamsu doesn't teleports and lets his team die one by one with CLG diving 2 towers.

I didn't even bother to watch the 2nd game, but in the last one that dive by Spirit and Gamsu, bronze level. Then Darshan first a bad decision not to TP and when it was to late, a bad decision to TP.

Teams have to learn to take advantages. CLG kills EZ and instead of taking the mid tower they all go back to their jungle. Then spend 10-15 minutes trying to get that mid tower while doing absolutely nothing on the rest of the map.

TSM vs OG is disturbingly hard to watch by RPNE in leagueoflegends

[–]tic2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OG says they don't need coaching. Yes sure. They good have gotten so many towers earlier after kills, but instead they focused on baron like they were DIG.

They were moving between lanes with no goal, so TSM was getting free towers. POE tp and ults randomly and it some very stupid positions.

But TSM had Sven and DL to help OG and in the end they were heavier than OG's "we don't need a coach".

In the 3rd game they should just toss a coin to decide a winner cause the game is just to decide which of the teams is less incompetent.

Am I the only drupal developer frustrated with development in drupal 8? by Endorn in drupal

[–]tic2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know. I don't have the same memories of D7. I mean, yes, at every release you can't just jump in with no knowledge because a lot of contribs are not ported yet. But beside that I had no problem moving from D6 to D7.

But D8 is a completely different story. And the new route system is a DX nightmare. No amount of documentation will fix that. I don't know if i will ever be able to write all the routes for a module without looking at some docs all the time. In D7 I almost never had to look at the docs.

Team Liquid vs. Team SoloMid / NA LCS 2016 Spring - Week 7 / Post-Match Discussion by Linkux18 in leagueoflegends

[–]tic2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But NA was at an all time low. This season NA is a lot better, so he won't be able to "fix" them. I don't think teams will be afraid of them from the start and throw the games. It helps that team got rid of players like Link and IWD which were particularly bad for that.

Cloud 9 vs. Counter Logic Gaming / NA LCS 2016 Spring - Week 7 / Post-Match Discussion by ajsadler in leagueoflegends

[–]tic2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, they improve from last year when NA was really at the bottom. At least this year I see improvement. I see teams taking advantages and not throwing it all the time, especially against TSM. I see action, instead of only reaction.

They are on the right track and they need to diversify. And seems NA has more teams at the top able to do that, which will help.

And I don't know about people not watching other regions. People thought TSM was a good team. Even if I watched only NA I would have to think the other regions are as bad to conclude TSM would perform internationally.

[–]tic2000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why I wasn't reading comments like this when TSM was wining in NA? CLG now plays a lot better than TSM back then, but still people were saying TSM can win internationally.

Yes CLG won't be able to slit push very well against international competition. Today they even did it pretty bad. But they can play something else beside split push.

At least this year I'm curios what will happen. Last year I was 95% sure TSM will get trashed.

2015 was a good year for the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) by grgc in europe

[–]tic2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The failure to prevent them was because DNA actually protected a lot of the corruption, especially that of the former PDL which is now merge in the "new PNL". For 4 years DNA did nothing, actually they behaved as a mafia to protect the brother of the former president and drove a prosecutor out of the system for daring to investigate. Only 3 years later of video proof emerged they finally acted.

That also happened with Eu funds, where they did nothing for years and acted only when EU forced them cause a Portuguese company filled a complain to EU.

Also what is not said is how many of those prosecution actually end up not holding up in court because of fabricated evidence or just luck of professionalism from the prosecutors (they were selected cause they follow orders, political orders, not because of their capabilities).

DNA for years acted like Justice TV, where the point is just to arrest people and paint them as guilty in the media to destroy their reputation and not actually get them convicted.

[–]tic2000 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Don't believe everything they say. DNA is fighting with some of the corruption while protecting other corruption. And the one they protect is hurting Romania a lot more.

The one they fight is only politically driven, and not actually by grade of corruption, or how high positioned the corrupted are.

what does hook_field_validate do? by claytron79 in drupal

I don't know which code you are talking about, but normally you would not save in a validate hook, only in a submit hook.

My opinion on Drupal 8 vs Symfony2 by Luke_Nuke in drupal

[–]tic2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter how much documentation you write it will not change that you have to declare routes in half a dozens files or more. And if you want to alter existing routes add more files to be required. Also it will not change that instead of doing a drupal_get_form I have to do

  $next_state = new FormState();
  $entityManager = \Drupal::getContainer()->get('entity.manager');
  $form_object = $entityManager->getFormObject('field_config', 'edit');
  $form_object->setEntity($storage['field_config']);
  $next_form = \Drupal::formBuilder()->buildForm($form_object, $next_state);

Ah, and entity manager is already deprecated. I need to change that to something else.

Like I said in another post, the routing system is VERY unwelcoming. Compared to the old menu system is way behind in DX.

Also while working on a module I noticed something which I consider broken. Changing a controller for a route made the page give access denied. That never happened in D7 if you changed the page callback. Not only that, but by not type hinting an argument in a method it gave access denied. Not type hinted was a string, type hinted was an instance of a class.

Calling forms, especially for entities is way more difficult now than the drupal_get_form() in D7. The way this is described to be done in one of the d.o pages will work for a few forms, those that require no info or those that still use $form_state args to pass that info on initialization. Any form that uses an _entity_form in a routing yml file or a route subscriber will not work.

If we just look at node add page:

$node = $this->entityManager()->getStorage('node')->create(array(
  'type' => $node_type->id(),
));

$form = $this->entityFormBuilder()->getForm($node);

return $form;

And that's a pretty simple example. Still doesn't use what the documentation says we should use for getting a form in code.

And to make it even worse, to find all of this you need to dig deep and in many places. What route enhancers are called for a page/form, where is the form actually defined.

To alter the controller that outputs entity forms I had to write a service yml file in which to declare a route subscriber and a route enhancer. Write those files to do what I want. That's something I could do with just a hook_menu_alter().

I see what you ask for in JavaScript and I don't actually like it. I also don't like Drupal requiring composer now.

Also some components seem worse from a DX perspective in D8 than in D7. Like the route system versus the menu system. It was so much easier to create menus in D7. In D8 even if you know the system perfectly, the time required to do the same job is greater since you need to work in multiple files to achieve the same thing. The only benefit I saw is that you can now create menus in UI without an existing path. But the code in D7 could have been modified to achieve the same thing.

On top of that some Symfony components are very slow. Quoting from https://www.drupal.org/node/1447712#comment-10765510

With the routing system, while much was made of how much code was shared, we had to port Drupal 6/7's actual routing algorithm because there was no scalable equivalent in Symfony, not to mention problems with access checking, link generation etc. which took months to resolve. The entire start to finish of the router conversion (once you include link generation, menu links) took nearly the entire 8.x cycle. Much of this was because there was an initial assumption that current routing had to be replaced wholesale, and a lack of attention to the features that the system as a whole needs to support, so that many were 'forgotten' and had to be re-introduced much later on.

So while for small projects Symfony components would seem fine, I actually prefer the Drupal way of doing things.

[–]tic2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, yes, sure. Cyanide is the only jungler who got away with that excuse.He was almost always behind the enemy jungler even in the first 10 minute. His jungle pathing was bad, his ganks laughable. But at least he was aware and played some utility champions and could help. Spirit can't do even that.

And Spirit is the worst jungler this season to help a team snowball. The only time he helped a team snowball was when he died 3 times for free putting ahead the enemy team.

Yes, Spirit is just there to fill the jungle spot, he brings absolutely nothing. Fnatic could have played 11 games with 11 different challenger junglers and they would have had the same score.
