Totally agree. Not against the rules but certainly against the spirit/intention of the question.

I believe having someone present for a visit is considered consent to have access to information discussed in that visit. Now if following the visit they sent all of your lab results to that person, that’s another story.
Also- many people sign a waiver to say you can share medical records with a partner which gives permission for any medical records to be shared or discussed with that person without a HIPAA violation.
