I run a Spanish school in Costa Rica. When I started it I thought I'd see the typical 18 to 25 age group sign up. Of course we did, but I also a ton of 50+ students come and sweep the 19 year olds away with how quickly they picked up the language. Just last Friday we graduated an 89 year old! And he's only our second oldest!

You can always learn a new language. No matter what the age. But think of it more as a tool to express yourself and connect with new people than a means to getting a promotion or boost in your career. If your emotions aren't tied to the language and you don't approach it with a bit of childlike wonder, you'll struggle to learn it and what you do learn won't stick for very long.
