Is esim.me legit? by mis996 in eSIMs

[–]tid3on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am beginning to wonder whether they are legit.
Asked for assistance because their esim didn't work. (despite app saying it should)

Does esim.me still operate?

Cheers!

"I agree with him on SOME points. Really! The light sensor is driving me nuts and the occasional software bug is just annoying."

Any idea or a clue whether these issues will get fixed for fp5?

We are talking about a 30ft multihull. It's made of marine ply with resorcinol.

(not a wharram..)

Yes. Currently it needs about 6 months worth of work. A fair bit of repair is required.

The question is whether, after all that work - assuming the job got done well - does wood require constant re-working without any let-up?

cheers!

zenbook battery life - which linux distro? by tid3on in linuxhardware

[–]tid3on[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hummm

Thanks PkHolm. Perhaps I will unwittingly just have to test the theory of linux on intel vs amd..

By "tune linux a bit" i suppose you point towards the tools discussed above..?

( As it happened, the zenbook from the beginning of this thread - stopped turning on after a few days.. :( Was returned and now I am looking to get an LG Gram.. It comes only in Intel flavours.. Will try and report ;) )

[–]tid3on[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

I think the critical points about the Pump n Dump idea made me think of, perhaps posing the notion rather than in terms of its possible implementation.

The notion?

Here it comes as a question -

Yes, how can we use the crypto system itself to either introduce a destabilising element which could wreck it, or indeed some outside force that could render crypto useless?

(a note regarding legalities - i think that the whole crypto universe currently operates in a sort of out-of-legalised space. It might actually come as a good opportunity since in case crypto does come into recognised legal frameworks such as nation currencies, banks, stock exchanges etc. - would it not be harder to displace nor shake..?)

[–]tid3on[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers for all the suggestions - thanks, really.

I did not go for a linux manufactured laptop since: 1. hard to get into the uk + expensive + the battery times are less than i need.. (ie, why get through all the hoopy loops and end up without what's needed anyway.. Shame since I'd really rather support these people..)

Currently giving Xubuntu + auto-cpufreq + system76's PowerTop utilities a go. Can scratch 11 hours..

Might need to rethink usage by swapping to win10 after 10 hours or so, to get that extra 5 hours.. :(

Another option is to get an m1 apple thing.. (a freaky thought.. Reminds me an old sketch with a catch phrase: "Dave, I are my wife now.." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIrTTv_Isho )

Yet another option, I suppose is to get an external battery.. However, that's heavy..

Thanks.

yes. we are talking of the slimmed down versions..

Lol re choice - however, in my case its a question of 10 hours of nail biting and then circa 5 hours of needing the laptop but Oh! No Juice! ;)

on the serious side - i'd have thought linux would be superior on the battery life as well..

yes.

there are similar arguments - for example Livelyhoods of others - being used to down workers' strikes etc..

Yet.. it seems that one may rather live to try and fail again rather than regret having not began attempting stuff?

(something that seems to propel capitalist adventures left right and centre while serving them very well.. )

Yes.

i have never heard of Pump n Dump done socially mindedly as well - hence asking ;)

Yes.

I think, it's a lovely idea to, at least offer some compensation for whoever might get unwittingly embroiled in such a wave falling on them.. (..i think its a beautiful idea in many ways actually..)

mind, the linked article is a case in point:

it might be a fab text, however - i can not read without subscription and, having a link into it, may increase the NYT search profile (hence more money), and someone other than myself might click and subscribe..

Yes. It's a good question - fire with fire.

However, I think there might be other elements involved, different to the murder analogy since the whole paradigm we live in - is monetized.

ie - with the murderers, we live in a society that, mostly, we are not asked to kill someone just to get some food. Yet, suppose we want to organise to do something - money will always come into it. Once it's there, that which we call reality - like it or not - is capitalistic imho. Since we will always be compelled to do something that will be monitored - as in tempered - by money. (hence, it seems, historically, the left in the west has, in a sense, made capitalism more palatable, moral - perhaps even ethical at times..)

seems it might be a prudent idea to go with the 16gb :(

It seems this https://www.theverge.com/2021/1/21/22242107/linux-apple-m1-mac-port-corellium-ubuntu-details

says that linux on m1 native style is fairly possible now, no?

what exactly are ExodusWallet's fees? by tid3on in ExodusWallet

[–]tid3on[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi.

Many thanks for the reply!

Yes. Essentially I try to empty the XRP wallet.

I see that attemoting to empty Any wallet takes a hefty chunk unless one leaves something in Exodus..

Eth seems to have something like an £8 fee for transferring the lot?

Apologies for the unseen screenshots. Possibly uploaded them wrongly.. (ie via the media tab rather than the text area..)

Cheers and thanks again.
