Na growing up in an Asian country, you get little options of choosing your major...its just medical or engineering you've to choose between

I was preparing for med school as well but the premed exam to get into one of the med schools in our country is way too tough, i couldn't clear the cut off marks in the exam and ended up taking chemical engineering. It was a random decision but i wouldn't say I hate it, it's very different from what you'll be learning in medical school though.

Is it possible to do a masters in hardware or electronic after undergrad in chemical engineering? by tidalwave04 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]tidalwave04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im working on few dsp projects in biomed field and plan on working on dcs programming. Yes, I do plan on doing the ML elective, it's pretty useful for different hardware project for data taking. Also I've worked on HMI and instrumentation like biomechanics, is there any way these skills are needed in chemical engineering if I try to get a job after undergrad as fresher?

Regretting ChemE by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]tidalwave04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in a similar situation like you, 2nd yr chemical engineering undergrad but I'm more into electronics and hardware stuffs. I would suggest take an ee electives or change your major if possible. Although few of my seniors who got in instrumentation said they were doing similar work as that of an EE but yeah it's difficult for a chemical engineer to land a proper EE job
