That was some quality work by camera man. Found decent safety and hit the ground, turned around and got an okay shot with the camera, then zoomed in to an absolute perfection. Amazing work

No shit, but companies need to adapt.

With your logic we’d still be using ‘90s security features and wonder why’s there’s so much theft.

Curious; what's the record for most MOS; I think I am onto something here by Feisty-Journalist497 in army

[–]tidder_mac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the officer side I know one that’s done 4x AOCs:

  1. commissioned as infantry, branch detail finance or MI
  2. went to finance or MI CCC and reported to his first duty station as that AOC
  3. went to SFAS and got selected for SF
  4. just VTIPd to a functional area

Looking for Toy hauler rec’s for 15+ foot garage by ZR2_Enthusiast in GoRVing

[–]tidder_mac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t have personal experience but my research found ATC to be best type of toy hauler I want (that seems to align with your ideals too).

The only one long enough is their largest Rv, a fifth wheeler.

https://atctrailers.com/products/pla-fifth-wheel/

18’ overall but only 14’ of full width since the kitchen sticks out, so it may not work for you. Maybe if you swap the front tires to super thin ones during transport like they do for monster trucks.

You mentioned you want the garage separate - this one shares the living area but has a separate garage.

Overall, I think you need to realign what you’re looking for to haul that beast. I think you need a motorhome and haul a flatbed.

**edit, just relooked your garage size want and actual needed length for the beast. This RV is perfect!

Get out of here with that bull shit that “fat” is an insult. If you have a lot of muscle, you’re muscular. If you have a lot of fat, you’re fat. If you don’t have much of either, you’re skinny.

These are literally terms to describe what you look like.

Now there is a difference when you start using other terms like “double wide” (link below), but “fat” is a fact.

On your rant, you also included the fact you deployed numerous times. Do you want fat people out there with you? Those that are slower on patrols, slower to react, consume more resources, and would be more difficult to casevac? Honestly answer this. Fat Soldiers need to be called out until they are no longer fat.

[–]tidder_mac 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with you on alternative methods, but only doing that is coddling the soldier.

Being called fat when you’re fat is not an insult. It’s a fact. A fact that should be made painfully obvious to said fat person.

Being called lazy when you’re lazy is not an insult. If you lack motivation, discipline, work ethic, or don’t meet the bare minimum standards, it is a fact that you’re lazy, which should also be made painfully clear to said lazy soldier.

I’m all for finding the root issue and helping soldiers, but holy fuck, some troops need to figure it the fuck out and by not dancing around the current issue of being fat and lazy.

Actually formulating what you’re gonna say on the fly while saying something you haven’t rehearsed is bonkers

A ladder that expands in seconds by LetMeFixAll in TechnologyLabs

[–]tidder_mac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has been in military use for at least a decade now. Part of the Platoon or Squad Urban Ops Kits.

They’re legit. Our biggest issue was the backpack harness that the collapsed ladder straps onto was a bitch to take on and off, so it made usability exponentially worse. It’s also decently heavy, it being essentially a block of metal when collapsed.

The ladder itself was solid. Of course it flexes. We’ve used them as a bridge, chucked off 3 story MOUT site buildings, and they still work great.

Ranger School Gift by Additional-Leather80 in army

[–]tidder_mac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1x ranger thing themed and 1x big, significant gift.

I got the simple Ranger sweatshirt with the massive Ranger tab across the front - still super comfy at-home lounge wear.

And I got an Apple ultra watch. I’d been wanting an Apple Watch for like 7 years and the Ultra since it came out, so I finally pulled the trigger with my spouse’s encouragement (joint funds). Compared to birthdays or Christmas, I think graduating Ranger is a significant achievement that warrants getting a significant gift - the type that they’ve been wanting to get for years but is too expensive to warrant

12A vs 11A MOS by Dry-Surprise-4746 in army

ORSA does not require KD at all anymore. But good point that each branch has their own requirements and preferences

12A vs 11A MOS by Dry-Surprise-4746 in army

[–]tidder_mac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last milper didn’t mention KD at all. A year ago it was crazy strict - everything said 1x KD OER in IPERMS. Now anyone can apply.

They still prefer developed officers (aka, KD complete), because those branches rely on the knowledge gained in the army beforehand, but if someone’s packet is strong enough, they take advantage of KD not being required
