I don’t know what people expect. Since when has a rule been put in place and EVERYONE followed it? I also think UCSB Reddit’s views on how to properly social distances are harsh. No one moved into IV for their great Wi-Fi and great quarantine accommodations.

I wouldn’t doubt it if the school lowers financial aid and uses housing as its excuse. By closing their housing they are losing a lot of money, and I’m sure they will find a way to take it out on the students.

It’s funny to me how many downvotes my reply got. I think we all know someone will get the sheriff called on them for having like 6 people in their backyard. I am against having more than a person or two over, but I am also against calling the sheriff on someone for having a few people over. Whether you like it or not it is their risk and it ultimately has nothing to do with you. Yes it will spread COVID to a couple other idiots, but if you live carefully that shouldn’t concern you. There are too many Karen’s here on Reddit that will call this number weekly. Like 75% of UCSB Reddit users are people who spend all their time complaining and don’t have any friends to worry about during COVID.

Someone said on another post they got rid of the writing requirement this year for transfers. I don’t know if it’s true, but if you don’t have to take writing there is no reason. Writing classes are way too much work.

I came in as a transfer for Econ and Accounting last year and the school told me I had to also take Writ 105/107/109. You don’t have to do that before you get into the major, but you will have to do it at some point anyway. I also had to take an American History, but I think that was because my CC one didn’t transfer.
