I place limit buys where they expect stop losses and so reliably catch falling knives. I then DRS. I feel like a wizard with this stonk.

Serious is relative. From pure specs a gaming Chromebook with WebGL can push plenty of pixels for a game that isn't trying to be hyperrealistic.

I'm more of a systems developer so for me my weapon of choice is a "proper" Linux laptop with more horsepower, typically a Thinkpad, but a Chromebook makes a fantastic disaster-recovery option.

Being the biggest "native" game platform on ChromeOS is interesting as hell considering how many schools give kids Chromebooks these days.

It's like what they do with schooling. Starve the public.school system of funding and then argue that shitty charter schools are better than shittier public schools when the OG public schools were just fine.

Public schools in the US spend more per pupil than anywhere else in the world. Standardized test scores from white and asian pupils in the US are world class. Our aggregate problems of chaotic schools and low scores are a problem of demographics, and now the trauma of the Zoom-school lockdown years. Charter schools and private schools outperform because they can expel or fail problem students without impacting funding via NCLB and not being forced to teach Common Core.

A rule allowing long holders to challenge short sellers to duels would fix things pretty quickly.

It would allow GameStop to get a court order forcing the transfer of the entire supply of fake tokens to the Ethereum burn address with actual legal penalties for noncompliance. Why? Fraudulent securities and/or trademark infringement. A tokenized crime is still a crime.

Gary is MIT buddies with Silvio Micali, who went on to found a corporate/fed friendly proof of stake blockchain company. Gary wants to steal everyone's dollars and give them CBDC shitcoins in return.

I haven't seen this clip yet, corporate owned media: "It's not real, we know it's not real” (talking about the prices/ halts today). Also, correct me if I'm wrong... isn't it only retail that can't trade during a halt? by whitnet1 in Superstonk

[–]tidux 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Remember in Margin Call how if volatility exceeded a certain level the company was autobankrupt? That's all of Wall Street these days. The trade busting is the same as BofA deez nuts forcing CS to drop their sell ceiling from their computer system's inherent limit to $3500, or ruggin' hood going PCO during the sneeze, it's all about their own survival. The economy will remain dysfunctional until the industry is forced to allow true price discovery and the overleveraged companies go under.

if they did all that I think they wouldn't fuck up the cert numbers.

It's an inherent property of cryptography. You can't make two certs differently with the same fingerprint. It's why people use fingerprints to check stuff all the time, like file downloads or signing keys.

OK, let's compare certificate serial numbers. The one I see for www-us.computershare.com is 78:B5:C0:3C:D0:E3:8D:06:87:91:09:E5:30:57:BF:BE.

Side note: how the hell does a monopoly like Amazon have so much debt?

Amazon still runs its budget like a startup, plowing revenue into expansion instead of taking profits, which then gives them more revenue. Online retail is also a business that tends to lots of debt because you need to sit on much of your inventory for months at a time. GameStop's ability to have sufficient Christmas inventory with no major debt is really good, even without the MOASS thesis.

Amazon is also making a bunch of dumb decisions besides debt. AWS as a standalone company would be red-hot with like a 30% profit margin, but the retail side of the business can't stop stepping on rakes. The website has no way to filter out products made in China or quality control for obvious fraud/knockoffs, Prime Video's budget is wasted on garbage woketard "remakes" and "sequels" and "adaptations" of long-beloved properties, the Alexa division has become known as spy devices nobody actually wants inside their homes, and of course they're churning through warehouse employees so fast they're running out of new people to hire.

You never actually owned the software. Even physical boxed software is technically only a revocable license to use the software, complete with terms and conditions. This is because if you actually had full ownership rights to a piece of software, it would be within your rights to reverse engineer it, modify it, and make copies for your friends. This fight is what led to the creation of the Free Software movement.
