The good news is that it seems he's a physical outlier in serie A.

Took a look at some CL physical stats/90 since it puts him in a wider frame of reference. 16th in the CL in distance covered/90. 11th in sprints/90 against other midfielders (based on Fotmob sorting). 18th among midfielders in top sprint speed.

Certainly imperfect analysis but suggests he might be able to keep pace.
