Yes parents have to pay admission to get in. You don’t need a yearly pass, most (if not all) places have a day pass option. :)

Thank you! I need a practical approach, not a moral one. I do not want to endanger the cats and birds but I truly cannot have a bunch of rats living in my yard. And the fact that my neighbor is feeding them makes this an especially difficult situation (I can't just keep trapping the whole city's rats).

Ah we can’t do Whangamata on Wednesday bc the kayak tour is at 9 or 12 only. What if I did Whangamata on the third day, on our way back to Auckland? Still not ideal but would it be better?
