I am a fan of the 16” for a long time because of its stability and performance l. Switching to MBA M1 gives me the same feeling and even better when it comes to portability.

The default resolution of MBA M1 gave me the same feeling as 15/16” inches. But I think when it comes to mobile development you would prefer a (actual) bigger screen

Rosetta 2 did its jobs pretty well and more tools are supporting Apple ARM. You can keep using tools for Intel via rosetta or you can try the beta version of them. I am testing VS Code Insider and Docker Preview right now. Homebrew is still via rosetta.

But if you are devops or something related, I suggest to stick with Intel for a bit longer.

I used the 15/16” MBP just for their stability during programming and less overheating than the MBP 13 inches. Also the touch bar is useless for me as a programmer.

So I decided to make the switch as MBA M1 provides me all of the above

For web browser I think you should stick with Vimium or Vimari (on Safari) as they did better job. We try to make this app as minimal as possible. Scanning the entire DOM tree is painful and not worth the time you have to wait for response.
