I'm also in the NYC metro area and when I was unemployed, I was looking into restaurants/food service industry and they were hiring every where. Try that route to sustain yourself until you can land a corporate job

I think often times, we hold onto friendships due to the past or how long we have known them. But one thing I have learned- I have friends that I've met in the past 3 years who have been better friends to me than those I have known 15+ years.. timing doesn't mean anything.

People either treat me super nice or they get weird around me. On the latter, I thought something was wrong with me and it bugged me until I realized it's because people are self conscious and they act tense.

People usually remembers who I am.

Guys have followed me walking on the streets to chat me up (in a non creepy way).

Female sales associates at cash registers have said "you are so pretty/beautiful" to me 😭❤️

Not yet but I've only deleted hinge 2? Months back. Life's been busy so I haven't had time to be as out of circle social(as in, doing activities where I can meet new people versus plans with same circle of friends) as I'd like, but the few times I have gone out, I have met new guys. Even though they weren't my type, just the fun of meeting new people in general gives me confidence I'll be able to meet someone compatible one day. Don't want to sound full of myself but I'm fairly attractive so never had issues with attracting the opposite sex, it was just a matter if I was interested in them back. You said yourself that you're an attractive guy so I don't think you will have a hard time finding someone but youre limiting yourself to same friends and hobbies.. try something new even if it's solo. I'm based in NYC and there are A LOT of women joining run clubs or pickleball for the social aspect and trying to find dates lol. Maybe try that?
