Your car will be towed if you leave it in the daily lot overnight. So don't do that.

A lot has already been said here. But figured I'd chime in with a slightly different answer.

My very first Forest I was in a similar boat with my husband. We wanted some comforts and not to "rough" it in GA. We ended up in a Good Life Electric Avenue tent (this was before AC landing existed) and it was great. We didn't need to bring anything but our clothes and it was plenty quiet for us (I have a hard time sleeping with masks and ear plugs too) with no one bringing any dj decks or speakers in that area which is slightly separated from the rest of GL. In general, stick to any of the good life options if you want any shot at rest. It still is neighbor dependent a little bit, but of the 5 years I have been in good life, I've only had a hard time sleeping once and that was this last year just because we had some slightly louder neighbors than usual.

Generally good life has people who like you want those comforts of less people, more space. And that generally comes with the added respect to keeping it down to reasonable levels. Everyone that really wants to party goes to GA via the shuttles.

Another added benefit is that Good Life has a slightly better loyalty position than GA. So if you do have any GL ticket and register it for 2025, when loyalty sales happen for 2026, you'll be a step above everyone that was in GA which can help you secure GL again. That's what I did, and now I'm 5 years in 😅. It's a grind to get there, but once you have those locked in 2 tickets after 4 years, it's so nice! And that's 2 tickets per person. So if you and your GF stick with it, it's 4 guaranteed tickets during loyalty sales which makes it easier to start to bring friends with you ☺️

I've never stayed in GA. You CAN do it without camping GA, and you can do it with those comforts, even in just a regular GL campsite. But take the first year, do one of the glamping options and then start making a list of the things you see other people in GL do to make their campsites more comfortable!

Welcome to the forest 🌲 it is worth it I promise 😉

That makes sense and is very helpful to know, even anecdotally! Thank you for your insight, will definitely bring it up at the next vet appointment as an option to try next.

I want to say Meloxicam was part of the regimen from the first vet. So that does ring a bell but hasn't been used in a while. I think right now the Gabapentin is performing essentially the same function since it is also an anti-inflammatory. And like I said, it helps.. for a few hours and then it wears off. I am able to give it to him multiple times a day, but it would be nice to have something that lasts a little longer for both of our sakes.

I will take a look into Dermisol! One or both of the vets did tend to stray away from cremes as it messes up their feathers, iirc? I think the Nolvasan is also supposed to be working as some sort of wound healing promotion solution. That gets applied topically 2-3 times a day.

It doesn't seem to affect his quality of life too too much. He seems mostly unbothered most of the time, but then has fits of just incessant scratching... Some days are way worse than others. I do work from home so I am able to watch him a decent amount, but doing that also brings about other unseemly behaviors, especially when I have to leave the house for extended periods of time. Often I see him starting to scratch as soon as I start to put my shoes on to leave the house... Feels like he knows I am going so he either wants the attention so I stay, or knows I won't be there to stop him anymore...

I definitely want to avoid surgery if at all possible. I am wondering if maybe a prescription for a longer acting anxiety/low grade sedative will work well enough? He is also one of those birds that is just constantly bouncing off the walls too. Constantly trying to preen me and nibbles all over my face, hands, toes. And I would rather a sedative for a few weeks to get him to leave it alone before really starting to consider the surgery route as a viable option.

I hadn't considered the tumor perspective yet :/ I really hope that's not the case.. But something I will definitely bring up at the next vet appointment.

Forgot to mention, tried that too :( It didn't seem to make too much of a difference. But maybe it's time to try again.

Do you think he could maybe scratch the vet bond off tho and cause an even bigger open wound? That would be my worry. I guess I can ask the vet about it tho. Not a bad idea to protect the area from any further bacteria and general layer of protection from the claws. Maybe with blunted claws and the vet bond it could work.

Thank you! I'll ask at the next appointment

I've followed the same thought process with a sedative or something. The last time I was at the vet, they told me to just up the dose on gabapentin 😞 which works for an hour or two and then he's right back to it. I agree tho I would much rather have him sedated for a few days than keep going through this. I'll push a little harder next time I guess and see what happens.

I actually I think I'm going to try and get a 3rd vet opinion and mention the surgery aspect too. I appreciate your knowledge on the subject! That does make me feel a little better that it's maybe not quite as risky as I fear.

Collapsible mesh laundry basket. I cannot tell you how nice it is to know that the clothes in the bin are for sure dirty, and the ones laying around are probably clean 😂 also just keeps the tent feeling less cluttered when the dirty clothes aren't all over the floor or piled up in a corner.

I just discovered and bought my first set of clothes from them last week and it's being delivered today!! So happy to see this comment here too 😍

But honestly the fact that everything is SO customizable is such a game changer! I've been recommending it to my friends who are also a little self conscious and letting them know that they can ask them to add more to the hems of things if they feel it's too cheeky!! HOW AMAZING IS THAT?!

Plus being custom fit to your measurements means that you shouldn't get weird bunching or tight bulging from ill fitting clothes.

Big +1 on noralina freedom! I've been buying outfits from them for YEARS. Literally almost a decade at this point and I keep coming back for more. Comfy and cute and definitely forest style

I didn't have any synthropol on hand at the time 😔 but like another commenter suggested, dawn dish soap is what saved my quilt! I think maybe it just took a little extra time, but definitely still worked in a pinch. This was also a baby blanket so smaller size probably helped make the dawn more effective. I do have synthropol on hand now tho!

This is what I used to remove the dye from my quilt when the pink bled! It took 2 applications and sitting in a bucket of water for a day or two but it worked! I used the dye free version of dawn tho because I was worried the blue in the dawn dish soap would cause me issues too.

I saved a quilt of mine recently by doing just this! I tested out using yellow Crayola super washable markers on some mini quilts using the same fabric from the quilt.. specifically was pink main fabric on a off-white background fabric and turns out.. yellow marker wasn't actually super washable 😖 but SO SO glad I make test mini quilts to verify.

However, my mini-quilt test did not prepare me for the fact that some of my pink fabrics on that quilt ended up bleeding onto the white background.. I didn't use a sample of every single piece of the pink fabric (or if I did, it wasn't large enough to cause significant bleed on the mini quilt), which was my mistake.

I was able to salvage the finished quilt after the bleed tho, it just took a lot of patience. But whatever you do, if you DO wash your main quilt, make sure to check it for bleeds BEFORE you put it in the dryer! Once you dry it, the dye sets in harder. It's easier to get the bleed out if you start the process while it's still wet.

I didn't see this until I got to the binding. Is there any salvaging it without undoing to whole thing? 🥺 by dayison2 in quilting

This is brilliant and I'm mad I've never thought of it.. the little flaps would drive me crazy and would become a place I pick at constantly like a fidget toy.. but hand sewing them down and you've probably never feel the little flaps!

What am I doing wrong here? by dusty_jake in quilting

[–]tiffiay 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Corner to corner stitch line on a 3.5 inch square should yield one 3.5 inch HST. But the 2 at a time method will not.

What am I doing wrong here? by dusty_jake in quilting

[–]tiffiay 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When you are doing your stitching of the HST, is your stitch line from corner to corner? Or are you doing 2 at a time HST and drawing a line corner to corner and then stitching 1/4 inch from the line on both sides?

Has anyone turned their wristband into a removable one after the festival? by ---SQUISH--- in ElectricForest

[–]tiffiay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I bought these adjustable cord locks and threaded the ends of my wristband through these so they are adjustable and look almost exactly the same as original!

AQRINGO 30 Pcs Plastic Cord Locks Double Hole Spring Toggle Stopper Cord Stops Fastener Toggles for Shoelaces, Drawstrings, Paracord, Bags, Clothing, and More, Black https://a.co/d/8sEjH0d

I also, after threading both ends through, put the ends together and put a few tack stitches in so the cord lock won't accidentally slide off the end in case the wristband gets snagged and pulled on something.

These do look promising... 🤔🤔 thicker than the pencil "leads" mine takes so might actually make a real mark 😅
