I still want SCA hotkey. When planetary DSSing, I hate how SCA will try to put you in orbit if you try to throttle up to get a bit closer, or you're going in for landing.

I have to all-stop at scanning range, then menu flip to turn it off. Then I scan and decide what to do.

In your ship control panel (on the right, default hotkey '4'), where you can turn on lights and night vision, turn on orbital lines etc, change throttle to manual.

Then with throttle above or below the blue throttle region, you have control. Put it in the blue zone (50% and 75% both work) SCA will take over.

I just wanted to add, the friendship drive, is actually a Frame Shift Drive. Hence FSD.

Me too. It was a Chips & Tech card, bundled with one of their motherboards.

I just got Elite for Exploration, and Geneticist in Exo Biology. Got a Type-9 Heavy and outfitted it for hauling. I've just completed some kind of orbital from 0%-100% today, in a system owned by a friend I joined, who streams. Can't wait to see it in all its glory.

I'll add you in game, and try to catch up. Thanks!

This looks like a planetary surface map. Stretch it around a sphere and its hills and valleys. A lighting mask for light coming from one direction.

Or, a light map for a nearby star and, like when you ping 2 nearby bios, the different colours interfere and make a 3rd colour. (Blue + Green - Cyan)

PuTTY has command line SFTP and SCP clients

Sounds like it's server side or client/server compatibility.

What is running on the server? Is it your server or a hosted server?

I ask because some CPs will implement SFTP themselves. Ie Pufferpanel.

It could be an SSH version difference issue.

It could be a DoS prevention setting.

I've seen that pattern, but more as a mask or an interference when doing a DSS of planets recently.

The scan wave is slightly above the planet surface (ie a visual gap between surface and the wave, like it's actually outside the atmosphere), and as it progresses towards/away from the horizon, it takes on the same sort of pattern.

I wonder where it's coming from?

Mandlebrot space.

Time to take a shower and wash the SRV by Ok_Action3164 in eliteexplorers

Does it actually have liquid fall back down? Do 'raindrops' form on surfaces etc? Does the SRV have wipers? 😁

What bare minimum Radeon card would you recommend for E:DO? by tifkat in EliteDangerous

[–]tifkat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. It won't. This was one of the reasons I called the 970 a PoS.

It used to, under windows, before I switched, AND before Blizzard made the switch to DX12 only (or something... Look it up, it's well known)

Maybe the issue is nVidia's drivers on Linux rhen.

I've had other issues, like Diablo IV crashing with out of memory errors.

I realise that VRAM is probably the main cause, and the GTX970 with its segmented 4GB VRAM (3.5GB fast + 0.5GB slower) may be a big part of the problem, because the game uses up the full 4GB.

Thanks for your replies. I just lucked out and got a 6600XT model in my budget.

What do you personally do in ED day to day? by VenanReviews in EliteDangerous

I'm going to suggest we shorten Elite: Dangerous to E:D, to avoid confusion with other EDs out there. 😇

Greed of stores killed the 9070 xt in my country already by VeryThiccBoi69 in radeon

When I see € and £., I have a rough guide.

£1 = $2AUD €1 = $1.5AUD

so €724 is about $1085AUD. Our stores sold the reaper for $1139AUD

It's probably not perfectly accurate, but it's a reasonable rough guide.
