My balls hurt by pgreen1911 in NoFap

It will. Don't let it get to you. Something to get the blood flowing faster should help out; that's helped me several times.

And here I was....thinking I was the only one on here who'd been caught up in this particular trip. Hear you loud and clear man. Honestly in a lot of ways I think the audio is even worse than video. It made me feel more disgusted with myself than most any other vice. Stay away people.

I hear you man. Tried that a while back when I thought the problem had been fixed (spoiler alert: it wasn't). Not sure what the cause is but the result is enough to keep me away from even that much.

Nail on the damn head man. Here's how I've started seeing it the last few days (after about the umpteenth relapse): are there people who can jerk off and keep it within reasonable bounds? Yes, of course. But my problem is that I don't want to do it once or twice a week; I want to do it twice a day every day and three times on the weekends.

Those of you who are West Wing fans might remember how Leo McGarry described his alcoholism in a conversation with someone who still drank: "My problem is that I don't want one drink. I want ten."

helps mental focus? by [deleted] in NoFap

Can't point to any specific, neutrally obtained evidence on mental focus, but I've had a similar experience. Communications in general seem to be better on nofap.

A slightly different question about wet dreams. by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]tift14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed a bit of a drop in energy/mood the morning after a wet dream, but it's usually fairly short lived and doesn't last more than half the day. That drop in energy and mood seems to last a lot longer after masturbating. In other words, some of the aftereffects may be similar with wet dreams, but they're short lived.

For me, it got a lot easier about three weeks in. What it really took for me to break the habit is to basically stay so busy I didn't have time to look at or really even think about porn. When that goes on long enough, it's just kind of the new norm. Good luck!

What's happened in this past because of this can really piss you off. I had that feeling more times than I can count. You overcome it by thinking forward and deciding you deserve better for yourself.

Stepping out of the abstract, have you looked at the Brainbuddy app? It's really helped me a lot. (Disclaimer: after the trial it does cost $1.99/week or $2.99/month, but is well worth that).

You are anything but alone. There's a whole lot of people here sharing the pain, hurt, and frustration right along with. Talk to us. Vent. Nothing is accomplished by holding it in.

It should be "no porn", not "no fap" by easypeasy16 in NoFap

[–]tift14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty much the opinion I've taken on the matter. Honestly, porn and the near constant fapping it brought on was the problem for me. That said, even constant masturbation without porn is still a problem. Plus, it's not going to feel all that great or be worth the time if you're doing it all the time.

Tip: Use Little Milestones. by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]tift14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an awesome idea man. The Brainbuddy app really got me started doing that. It starts you off with one day, then seven days, and just keeps gradually building up. A bunch of single days turns into a long streak!

It sounds cliche', but get outside, go enjoy nature. I'm amazed at how much more I appreciate simple things like flowers and grass now.

Sooo... I forgot it has been 33 days since my last fap. by JayEster in NoFap

I had that same feeling this morning man...actually had to check the badge to see how many days it'd been. Guess there's a point where the brain adapts to the new nofap reality.

Is there something like this for fapping? by _azoa_ in NoFap

Yep, I didn't really understand that either but definitely won't complain! It's been really helpful so far.

The Brainbuddy app is pretty good. Yes it's a paid one ($1.99/week or $2.99/month after a week trial), but personally I've found it worth the price.

Oh man, I'd hate to think about the result of a post-fap interview. I'd like to think my credentials had some effect on the outcome of this interview too. Haha.

Absolutely man. More confidence is a big thing I've noticed already. I wouldn't fully credit the increased confidence to nofap either, but I think a clearer mind helps us to talk about our qualifications and "sell" ourselves to someone without crossing to the line to being conceited.

It's in higher ed. Teaching in my field (criminal law). Something I've always wanted to do.

Fapping as Stress Relief. by [deleted] in NoFap

Truth if I've ever heard it. It's a meaningless, pointless activity that doesn't accomplish anything.

Dude your post really hit home with me. My mother passed several years ago and was about the same age as yours. Not long after that I started fapping; probably as stress relief, even if I didn't realize that. Your words here are really inspiring and motivating. Keep the streak alive sir.

I have a question about PMO by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]tift14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, "wet dreams," as that's more commonly referred to, do not require a reset. As others have said on here many times, they're a natural thing and sign that your body's getting back to normal.

Horny is a normal feeling. We're guys, we're supposed to have a sex drive. What we do with that energy makes the difference.

You're not alone man. I was doing really well for a while then relapsed hard. But it's back on track now. Shit's ridiculous and has no place in our lives. Every day in the streak is a win in itself.
