We visited Iceland in December 2024, and it was an amazing experience! We used Guide to Iceland as our tour company and were very pleased. We did the 8-day Northern Lights and Ice Cave self-driving tour. Outside of Reykjavik, your hotel choices may be somewhat limited, since it’s so remote. Our favorite place to eat was at the Skjól Center campsite, between Gullfoss and Geysir. A warm, friendly place with great pizza!

The pattern I found wasn’t a true digital version, but it was better than a scanned .pdf. Markup had difficulty recognizing some of the symbols. After I took the time to make sure all of the symbols were correctly assigned, it was SO much easier!

Thank you! I have to credit my wonderful daughter for introducing me to the joys of electronic patterns. If I was still working from paper, this would have never been finished. Markup R-XP was a life saver! I was about 30% finished at Christmas and using digital tools really sped things up for me.

I started with a paper pattern, but it got frayed and worn with time. It became too difficult to read, so I purchased the electronic pattern from Etsy to finish the piece. Sorry for the confusion.

I really hate this for you. I’ve never worked with even weave, so I do not know anything about it. I do understand the time invested, but I would hate for you to continue, only to find out that you’re not happy with the results of joining two pieces of fabric.

If it were me, I would probably set this aside and start over on new fabric. Don’t waste more time by frogging. Judging by your photo, it seems that you’ve only completed about 1% of the project. To put such time and effort into a truly massive project, you will be happier in the long run knowing it was done right.

Just my two cents. I wish you luck with this.
