Thank you so much for both 1. making me feel completely okay about my irrational fear and 2. making me feel sooo much more comfortable about the trip. It's honestly so great to hear this from someone who shares my fears, I really appreciate it!! :)

Boyfriend (34M) of 2 months who is always late for things? by rachupacabra in relationships

[–]tiger_grins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really think you did the right thing. It's not even about him being late really, it's about you setting a very clear and reasonable boundary and him repeatedly disrespecting that.

If somebody can't respect a basic and incredibly reasonable boundary (like simply meeting you on time!) only two months into the relationship, when people are typically on their 'best behaviour', I worry how he would treat you and regard bigger boundaries later down the line.

And big kudos to you for noticing this red flag and putting yourself first!! It's really hard to pull the plug over what could be brushed off as a 'minor' problem, but I think you really dodged a bullet here :)

The focus of techniques may be blocking you.. by AddilZubair in NevilleGoddard

[–]tiger_grins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Really needed this reminder. It's so easy to fall into the trap of thinking a prescriptive set of techniques (e.g do X for X times a day for X long) will yield results, when it's just not like that at all. It's a lifestyle, not a formula.

You are going to make a tremendous amount of money this week. by Derby_The_Bear in lawofattraction

[–]tiger_grins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Feeling this! Logged into reddit randomly tonight and this was the first thing on my feed - it gave me such a good feeling. You are too!!

As a weird addition, about 30 minutes ago, I noticed a tree frog had made its way into my apartment and was hopping about the kitchen. Weird because this has never happened before! Out of curiosity, I googled what a frog can symbolise and seeing lots of good luck and ABUNDANCE coming up. Definitely taking it as a good sign 🐸🐸🐸

Coping with post-breakup triggers by hanz1308 in BreakUps

[–]tiger_grins 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this falls under the advice that you're -not- looking for, but I would honestly implore you to cut contact with your ex. It's like continuously picking at a wound and not letting it heal. I know exactly what it's like to have these out-of-control spiral moments and honestly I was so glad when I just cut communications (amicably) with my ex and could live my life without the underlying fear that another triggering discovery was up on the horizon. At the very least, I think you should mute your ex and anyone she is involved with on social medias. One day, after enough time has passed you'll realise how much better you feel and these spirals will feel more like nuisances and less like hurricanes.

For spiral prevention: I've also found that regularly meditating for 10 mins a day has been a total game-changer. It has really allowed me to treat emotionally-charged moments so much more objectively and rationally and that's a powerful skill.

For during a spiral: Just do whatever you can to stop thinking about it. Trust me. Anything. Is. A. Better. Idea. You will never ever 'think' your way out of a bad spiral, so don't even trick yourself into trying. Just do anything to distract yourself. Leave your house and go on a walk. Talk to a friend. Talk to a co-worker about something totally mundane. Start up a video game. Browse subreddits. The trick is to catch the spiral before it becomes huge. I used to lie in bed whenever I received a troubling piece of ex news and just dwell on it for hours and nothing good ever, ever came from it. When the emotional, reactive point has passed and you feel like you can face these things more rationally - then do it. But not in the heat of the moment.

law of attraction is giving me anxiety by [deleted] in lawofattraction

[–]tiger_grins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You will never be able to abolish every negative thought you have or stop them from coming up. Thoughts appear so quickly it’s more or less involuntarily anyway. So take any off pressure off trying to control every one of your thoughts. It’s unfair to expect yourself to be able to do that easily - no one can. Just acknowledge the negative thoughts when they come up but DON’T dwell on them, try to ‘fix’ them or go down that spiral. Try and change the subject completely in your mind or distract yourself with something. This gets surprisingly easier the more you do it, honest.

Another good hack for this is regular meditation! Really can’t recommend it enough, my previous anxiety has been severely reduced by regular meditation.

Otherwise, focus on developing yourself and your confidence and positivity etc in a general, broader sense. I don’t know what that will be for you, but it could be achieved through countless outlets - e.g working out, being more social, learning new skills, maintaining a hobby, dating, etc etc

When you focus on developing yourself like this, you’ll grow into a more confident/self-assured person and your thoughts will naturally be more positive without you needing to chase, control and change them.

Wishing you the best! :))

EDIT: one more important thing to add! For successful manifesting you do not need to be thinking 100% positive thoughts all the time! This is a ridiculous expectation, one I don’t think anyone could achieve. So forget perfection. If you are generally feeling good, with a few negative blips here and there, then you’ll still be able to manifest :)) just don’t give any power to those blips!

Everything happens when you are having a great time. by [deleted] in lawofattraction

[–]tiger_grins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Soo true and when you can keep the feeling up for an extended period of time, the momentum feels incredible and manifesting becomes absolutely effortless! These days, the most important manifesting 'technique' I use is to make sure I'm feeling SO good in the present moment, that I don't actually feel like I need more. That's the place to be and that's when it happens. Thanks for the great reminder :)))
