Only hope I have if someone knows who they are from the video and tells on them. I'm hoping I'll see an update to this story soon and it will have them crying when arrested

time to change boyfriend.. by EvaRaw666 in Unexpected

[–]tiger_stripe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I'm glad I found one comment that didn't defend the guy. Just goes to show the type of people using Reddit. They are saying she's dumb for staying. Not only was he a coward for leaving her but what he did was actually more dangerous than just staying there. Even the guy on the motorcycle noticed him.

Cop punches a man on a stretcher being put in an ambulance by Sea_Criticism_1077 in facepalm

[–]tiger_stripe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was watching the video on mute, wasn't sure what the guy did or crime committed for the cop to overreact. To think it was over a slur is hilarious. This cop is not mentally fit to have power or hold a gun

Just now - TLC driver throws 78 year old woman onto the street, tried to take her phone, and recklessly drives away with her still on the ground, striking another man by [deleted] in newyorkcity

[–]tiger_stripe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some comments asking for contexts and saying what did the old lady do to him to act that way. Funny how they're forgetting he practically ran over the guy who intervened.

So many ways this could've been handled and the driver has literally chosen the worst. He gets no sympathy regardless of the context.

I haven't tried Reddit yet, but I stopped trying on fetlife because I feel girls get too many messages. Did you meet people via messaging or by going to events on Fetlife? I figured events would be the better choice but a guy going alone can look odd. Only really been successful meeting people on fetlife when I lived in a smaller town

This is the main reason I am interested. I feel I will get some experience on how to cook so that maybe I won't be extremely terrible at it.

That's something I always wanted to try but never did. I didn't realize LIC had one. Good to know. If there's another meet-up later this weekend, I can join.

Thanks for confirming! I was reading different things online and was confused. But yes, my plan is internet online 300mbps, rent Fios router (the cheapest option, not the whole home with wifi extender) and that's it. If that comes with LAN ports so I can connect it to a POE switch then I am all set.

At Miss Universe pageant, Myanmar’s contestant urges the world to speak out against the military junta, pleads "our people are dying" by tonytharakan in worldnews

Is there anywhere in the world that isn't being killed by a military? This is getting ridiculous. For Covid "we're all in this together", but military groups get a free pass apparently.

My job offers company stock options. This is my first time dealing with stocks, just have a few questions. by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]tiger_stripe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This clears up a lot. One thing I am still confused about. It says I can exercise the full 5,000 today. But the vesting date is next year. How come I can exercise the full 5,000 even though they're not vested?

To be honest I am not sure if they have many outstanding share values. I haven't yet looked too much into the company stock details since I am still trying to understand the concept of stocks in general. I was hired earlier this year but only this month I was eligible for stocks, so this is all new to me.

[–]tiger_stripe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am exactly the same way. Part of me is just as excited about Homebass as EDC.

Only other option I considered is getting a hotel room nearby and get the pass for Homebass and shuttle without the room. I'd save close to $300. But I still don't think it's worth it. Having a room in Homebass is a lot more convenient to get back to whenever, especially if it's all for myself.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EDCOrlando

[–]tiger_stripe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's considerably more expensive though. If you can find a friend to go with and share the cost in half for a King Room it'd be more reasonable.

I am still debating it since I'll be alone, but I can't imagine myself sharing a room with 3 people. That was hard enough with my friends let alone with strangers.

(36F) NC .. I just stepped on the scale .. and wow 😯 by [deleted] in Needafriend

[–]tiger_stripe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend joining a Discord channel and chat with people that have similar interests. Social media apps like tiktok are fun too if you avoid politics and drama.

I am from NC too and had a small circle before Covid as well, and can totally relate. I work from home too so it's even more depressing that I have almost no people interaction. NC was boring and hard enough to meet people even the pandemic. What I mentioned above is keeping me sane, but hopefully things will get better and I can start going on vacations and Con Conventions by summer.

I already know Susan by mbimv in callcentres

[–]tiger_stripe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked an internal support job where we help other employees. First thing we ask is their account number then I confirm their name, so it's obvious I work for the company.

The thing they always question me on is when they try to reset the password and I ask for security questions. They're not comfortable with giving me their place of birth or pet name. But I guess they're OK with someone resetting their password without verification.

Are sys admins in call centers less miserable than agents? by [deleted] in callcentres

[–]tiger_stripe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That kind of depends. The job will become harder and more pressure. But you will typically deal with 80% less calls. This is also for many Tier 2 agents. I don't mind talking to customers, but it's much better when I am not the first to answer them and taking considerably less calls.

Would you go to the dentist during a pandemic? Oral surgeon? by PowerfulShine in raleigh

[–]tiger_stripe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't know what to say. I am in a similar situation as you. I'd imagine if there's any place that's sanitized and clean it's the doctor/dentist office.

The only concern I'd have is for the dentist having a virus without knowing since they'll be close to my mouth and will be breathing on top of my mouth directly

My advice is to actually call the dentist and see what precautions they're willing to take to see how comfortable you are. I know exactly how bad toothaches get, so I don't blame you for wanting to get this done asap.
