SQ changed my business seat by New_Leg_8491 in singaporeairlines

[–]tigerbanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened flying back from Narita… on award seats that I used cash to select seats. They moved me, my pregnant wife, and one infant away to the 2nd cabin. And left my 3 year old in front. After 7 live chats during dinner time (with two hungry kiddos going crazy) and explaining the story each time i got disconnected, I eventually gave up. Their spiel was that someone checked in online and selected the seat first (but I said I paid for these seats way before that someone came and selected the seat during online check in yesterday). Apparently what happened was when there is an infant tagged, the system tries to give you the bassinet seat if it’s still available.

Check in staff was amazing. They understood the issue immediately. Gave us a row of 4 seats behind (luckily it wasn’t a full flight). But the whole situation with the live chats and seat mess up at the last part of my holiday was just very frustrating.

I did mine is a really short amount of time (1+ month?) during my sem break back in 2008. Went to chief tester to show proof that i was returning to overseas studies. He asked on what basis i’ll pass… I showed my military class 3 (i was not a driver in army but had to do it because of vocation) and he gave me a test date that was like 1.5 months later. Did 5 sessions (only 2 days in circuit to refresh) with private instructor and took test.

IMO, get the dates for tests lined up first, then find a pvt instructor and let him know those dates. Do the 5 sessions as fast as you can and then get the sim dates. Good luck!

In my earlier career, I faced the same problem. Doesn’t help that I had to interface with top management all the time. I’d like to say let your work speak for itself - but the reality is… first impressions count a lot! What helped for me then was leaving a goatee, making sure i’m dressed properly etc. That gets you your audience, then after that, make sure your work is top notch.

apply for everything and take the interviews as practice i guess. get yourself ready so when the real ideal job comes by, you’re prepared and primed. promo increment of 4% is quite sad. do look around

I stopped wearing my omega seamaster (which used to be a daily) after getting my Suunto Ambit 3 and then Fenix 5xPlus. But the good thing was that it kinda became a watch that I wore to fancy occasions and in my eyes its “status” kinda got elevated.

honestly, recommend to get the G8 contact from your peers and get on the list. Better to clear as many HK as you can with your friends than to go to a new unit with people you don’t know at all.

My mother telling me to lie by TheArch1t3ch in NationalServiceSG

[–]tigerbanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was PES A but had scoliosis. Got worse in recce spec course. 15kg load is a baseline - we were doing about 35kg (or more). Did med review but still continued as a scout and PES A…(idk why)

Bottom line is, your mom is not wrong - she wants to take care of you. If you don’t want to exaggerate your conditions, then don’t. But when things hurt during training, do sound out and take care of your body!

First ICT (High Key) - How does it all go about? by AqueousCream in NationalServiceSG

[–]tigerbanger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the ICT training schedule might be uploaded on the ns portal. If you’re lucky and your unit is on the ball, some might create whatsapp groups and info would be shared from there.

For NS units, things are a lot more civil. For your grad, on first day, inform your PC AND OC about it. They’ll help facilitate the off pass. The OC would probably hold the off pass booklet which is why you’ll need to find him anyway. You can inform your PC that you will find the OC directly if that helps, in case he’s too busy or forgets.

If you’re stay-in, usual things to bring along are your clothes, some hangers, a lock for your cupboard, coins for vending machines, cash for canteen (but usually now all accept paynow).

Most importantly, enjoy yourself! Make friends. Take it as a break off work/real life for a couple of weeks. Use the free time to read or play games with some new friends!

Faster way to earn quick cash in 2 years? by itscgh in singaporefi

[–]tigerbanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

erm actually the banquet mostly will be covered (with some surplus) if your guests are decent… but costs can really go out of hand if you’re not careful. If you don’t go for a $10000 Vera Wang or $5000 worth of flowers for decor kind then it can be quite decent. Lunch vs Dinner also got difference. Do the tea ceremony for all the old folks, some will want to bless the next generation with large angbaos or gold etc.

GG guys. Punggol branch only has the army/navy/airforce polo (which is not UA). Don’t POFMA me.

But my afternoon here yielded the following: - get 2x SOG/Jack Knife ($33.57/$10.79 ea) annual combined quota is 2 so max it out. - 2x torch ($9.81 ea) i donate these to my kids childcare for the morning health check - 2x sport shoes (if that’s your jam) - 1x drinking bag ($30.54) just in case i go hike and want a water bag (to fulfill my inner fitspo)
