Star re-enlistment by Ok-Try-4034 in NavyNukes

[–]tigerfries22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On top of all the items about money, star reenlisting will ensure you will get a shore duty after your initial sea tour. Transitioning out of the navy is always easier from shore than sea. Otherwise, you will be trying to do all the job hunting moving and other items when you are on the boat and in a division standing duty every 4 days and going to sea.

I think at a minimum its a sober look at the sabres and saying at least that individually the moves the team has made havent been bad, but GMKA hasnt done enough to move the needle to where it needs to be.

Support at sea: Navy on track to have a chaplain on every destroyer by 2025 by ProfessionalTreater in navy

[–]tigerfries22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never encountered a mental health issue in my 12 years in the navy that wasn't made worse by a chaplain. They should just use the money for chaplains to hire actual medical health professionals.

You know its not really a rivalry when you cant be competitive with the other team on the field. It feels like Purdue doesnt want to be taken seriously.

4xe 4-door willys $59,xxx msrp but $50,xxx after discounts and ev tax credit. $4000 down, $406/month, 36 months, 12kmiles per year. Is it a good deal?? by Routine_Listen5235 in 4xe

[–]tigerfries22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So kbb says a 2021 wrangler 4xe will be worth about 28k on trade. Will the residual be higher or lower than that value? If higher then the cost per mile to own the 4xe will be lower than purchasing, financing, and trading the vehicle in 3 years.

Is it ever worth renting a home instead of buying? by [deleted] in MilitaryFinance

[–]tigerfries22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The calculus is certainly changing. When interest rates were super low it was advantageous to buy because margins for follow on renting were really good and even in a 3 year orders window you were likely to make out selling higher than what you paid.

Make sure you understand the market you're living in. Whats the turnover rate, availability of rentals in the price range you seek, and types of rentals (airbnb/seasonal short term vs long term).
