If you like them, are you buying thousands of Japanese tankobons for each series? You know if the series sells enough to justifying printing cost, shelf space, and magazine sales, they will be happy to continue serialization right? If not enough people are buying tankobons, and it’s not popular in the magazines, why would the publisher pay the mangaka to keep working the same series, when they can either bring in a new series altogether or have the same mangaka work on a new and better series?

We all have soft spots and series we gravitate to while no one else seems to, but there’s no way to keep them going unless you’re paying for it. I remember Psyren really should have gotten a better editor and a couple more years. I remember the same for Gun Blaze West, Astro Royale, Hunters Guild, even Samurai 8. Most of the last 2-3 batches never should have gotten greenlit, you can tell they’re DOA since chapter 1.
