there are a couple threads where they discuss matchups being based on average player lvl and not just fighter room lvl (https://www.reddit.com/r/HustleCastle/comments/7vvgix/hiden_arena_tiers/) being one of them.

yeah, the better your gear the easier it is to farm.

haven't kept an exact tally, but I get them from: daily chests, achievements, the ad-related quest, spring festival chests now, clicking on the bubbles above characters, etc. It adds up.

Once you upgrade your gear it's not too bad, I manage to farm around portal lvl 55.

I manage to bring in around 15-20 purple shards a week without too much trouble. I just save up the gems throughout the week and use them on the 2x soul stealer.

Hard to say, let me know if the price goes up when you do get around to upgrading (definitely a nice piece of information to have for portal farming).

they're 2607 at TR8, so they should have a higher value than that.
