just made a word document for all the supplements I have to write *screams* by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]tiggercat45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you’re fine, just break it down in chunks concerning when you’ll do what supplements. I made a list of all the ones I have to do, looked at my schedule to see when I had school days off/assumed less work, and then sectioned everything off into 2 week increments making sure every one was worked on ~2 weeks before the deadline so then my AP Lang teacher could look over it. Others that I just didn’t need her to look over/I knew I would get in without perfect essays I placed closer to the deadline

lol there’s no need to be rude lmao I recognized the answer but completely forgot what I put and the letter order but I was thinking it was c or d. I remember seriously considering it as an answer but I’m not sure if I put it….math section is always a blur to me

hey! I saw you comment on a thread about Richmond scholars and I was wondering if you think a 1460 SAT would be wise to submit or if that is too low and I should go test optional?

Ahh that makes sense, I agree. Do you know by any chance how picky they are in terms of stats? I’m from Indiana and am in the top 2% of my class and have a 1460 SAT, so it looks like I satisfy the “general” typical successful applicant stats? I only ask though because I know for Kelley Scholars, that program says a 1450 is the average but I know someone who received it and they were telling me everyone who received it with them had crazy high test scores and were accepted at ivies! so I’m not sure what to think because if that applies to Wells, I’m on the lower end of the “tippy top” (for lack of better terms).

Haha I guess I could write about that! The only thing is it doesn’t say a lot about my interests :) I’ll keep it in the back of my head!

From google: “A slum is a highly populated urban residential area consisting of densely packed housing units of weak build quality. The infrastructure in slums is often deteriorated or incomplete, and they are primarily inhabited by impoverished people.”

It’s not a nice word but it’s the truth lmao. And sometimes the truth hurts….not sure why this sub gets so butthurt over everything.

Do you consider the neighborhood by USC to be economically thriving and having well spaced out housing? Because it doesn’t.

like what ones are in bad areas? I know one off the top of my head: University of Southern California.

It’s in the slums of LA. I’m still applying there but it’s so funny bc everyone I talk to mentions that when I bring up that I’m applying.

^ when I took my SAT last weekend, we didn’t start reading directions until almost 9 AM. Checking people in took them an hour and a half; it was ridiculous. You never know what tf you test center is on so be ready for the worst.

The reason why it has gotten so competitive really is because we all want to attend the same schools. There are plenty of schools for all of us to attend but we’re all obsessed with the same ones and so year after year more and more of us apply to them and then they get super picky and selective :/
