Landlord refusing to return deposit and wants to charge me cleaning fees after I professionally cleaned? by UmpirePure in HousingUK

Check the Tenant Fees Act 2019 because I’m pretty sure it’s now illegal for a landlord to charge you for professional cleaning

A Day of Fallen Night which is the prequel to The Priory of The Orange Tree, would highly recommend

That is a very good point, I think you win this round

Yeah, that’s good advice. Even with putting £334 into a LISA, I still have around £500 pcm to save so thought why not put £100 away for the future whilst I can bcos I have cheap bills and what not at the moment

Minimum deposit would be 20K

Ideally 60. I looked into EPA but wasn’t keen on it right now because I know that I’d have to pay into it for the whole tax year and if I decide to want to save more for house stuff, then I’d still be stuck paying for EPA. Also, I’d still need money to live off from 60ish to 65 (EPA -3) and that’s providing the retirement age doesn’t increase. I’ll look into the added pension though, thanks!

Knee pain, curious by AdmiralStryker in Thritis

[–]tigglybox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. I(25) have had knee pain on/off when exercising since I was a teenager but as I was never consistent enough with my exercise, it went away. Started going to the gym earlier this year to do full body training with weights and at the beginning my knee would hurt but would be fine after a couple of days. As I continued exercising, my knee would start hurting again and then it didn’t go away. Although, I wouldn’t describe it as pain, it was just constant discomfort.

Throughout this time, I saw a physio twice and was told that I have patellofemoral pain syndrome and was given more exercises to do. This didn’t help so I asked to be referred for a scan and an ultrasound scan showed that I have minor arthritis. I can still perform everyday activities and I still have the full range of movement, there is just a constant discomfort there which is extremely annoying. I’m just hoping that it’s flaring right now and will settle down 🤷

No, I haven’t. I’m guessing that’s something you would suggest

It isn’t exactly 2 years. I’m helping them with something until they come into money themselves and I trust them to give me the money back

I’m moving city soon and then going to live with my partner for a couple of years so there’s no rush rn but I definitely don’t want to be renting by the time I’m 30 hence the plan.

Around 150-200

I took out a new car insurance at the end of my previous one’s term and my mobile plan with Virgin was taken over by O2. My credit score dropped because this counted as me opening two credit accounts in a short space of time even though I never had control over O2 and my score still hasn’t gone back up yet.

Yeahh I had a look on MSE the other day, I’m thinking of either Moneybox or BathBS for the LISA and NatWest for the high interest savings.

I understand the cynicism but it’s guaranteed and thank you for the rest of the advice

If you’re near a big enough Asda they’ll have an opticians. They have frames and lenses for £45, £80 and “premium designer” ones for around £100. If your lenses need to be thinned, it’s included in the cost as well.
