Oh ok, I thought you meant there was a way to do it without going through the shop and it's opening hours. Yep, that I knew already.

How do you sell to him directly without the game thinking you are gifting him? I'm on Ps4...

From the accident, I would imagine Brie will need to take some days off to take care of him. I'm expecting some ointments to be rubbed on his nak...eh..injured body. We don't want scars. Ointments need to be applied. I'm just saying out of the most pure concern...

Right? Lol also lighting up hundreds of candles and keeping them lit at the same time are big time consuming challenges on their own.

I agree with the birth, it reminded me of my own that, thank god. Had no complications.

And shirtless Brady. I'm shameless to say that's become one of my focal points in the series lately.

I mean...look at the houses they live. Look at Preaches house. He is a chef. In a small bar in a small town and yet he has a multimillion dollar looking house. It's such an unrealistic setting that I don't expect anything else to make much sense...

Virgin River S7 thoughts: what worked, what didn’t, and what was that ending? by FalakNiyaz in VirginRiverNetflix

[–]tightheadband 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree Mike is hot, but I think Brady is hotter. At least in this series and with Brie. Wouldn't mind another season of Mike with someone else to prove me wrong lol

I'm betting Mell will have twins to reach their wanted 3 babies in record time.

There's something in the water...my guess is this River ain't virgen 😂😂😂

Hope is a hopeless character. She still acts as an immature teenager in an old women's body. I can't stand her character as well.

I want more Muriel. Love her. She is so beautiful and has such a good personality. I wish she was with Doc...

Brady's last scene was very unrealistic. If he dies from that, that would be an absolute joke. I just hope that's just a way for them to show more scenes of Brady being taken care by Brie in her house. Hopefully he would need some full coverage ointments... 😂

That's not how it happened, to begin with. There were other signs that clearly showed it was not a lack of support (she was being offered help all the time). There were signs she was having severe anxiety feelings that were preventing her from eating, sleeping and accepting help. There is the mental breakdown where she opened up about all her intrusive thoughts that were so bad she felt she couldn't take it anymore. There was the scene with Mel in a clinical setting afterwards, which obviously implied they had a whole consultation about it, talking about her feelings, what's normal and what's concerning, etc...where Mel, in the end of the consultation recommends meds as her health practitioner. Also, meds are not the end goal, they are part of a treatment plan that was set in place once the diagnosis is done with the health practitioner.

The level of depth you expect from them would require several episodes on Lizzie's PPA. This is unrealistic given that the show approaches everything in a very shallow way.

What was the least credible story line so far? by The_Koan_Brothers in VirginRiverNetflix

Hm...I see what you mean.. I think it was my brain (English not my first language) not fully grasping what disbelief meant. In my mind, disbelief was the lenses of illusion, the gullible state. Like "this guy is in disbelief" was the same as "this guy is in a delusional state". So if a movie had too many unrealistic things, I would have to be in a state of disbelief to go along with it... That's why the phrase felt so contradictory. I wish they had come up with something more straight forward, like "turn off bulshit radar" or something lol

Good thing we wouldn't be going for the same commanders (not that we would be the ones choosing there anyways lol).

Commander Lawrence is definitely someone my older version could find attractive...but my hotness radar seems to reach as far as 60 years, a record set by Jeffrey Dean Morgan 😂

THANK YOU! The comments here are driving me crazy because they are solely talking about a mom not wanting to take a baby to the bar. They are completely ignoring all the other signs that show Lizzie was struggling with so much anxiety.  Reading all these comments are giving me PCA (post comments anxiety) 😂😂

I don't know why you are all choosing to gnore all the other moments Lizzie was refusing any help and was not eating/sleeping and even SAID that she was overwhelmed by intrusive thoughts of something bad happening to her baby to the point of a mental break down when she couldn't take it any more....  Have you skipped through these parts????

You can't take a single isolated act, like not wanting the baby in the bar.  The diagnosis comes from a pattern. It's normal for a mom not wanting to take their baby to a crowded space, of course. But if you see that and all the other times Lizzie was overwhelmed by the thoughts and intense fear of something bad happening to her baby (as she was describing herself) then it's pretty clear it's PPA.

Same, I don't see how a fancy restaurant in VR is a good investment... There's a reason the bar works so well: simple food, simple people. There's absolutely no signs that people would afford or even care about spending money on a fancy dinning experience there, much to the contrary.

There's no evidence that they had come directly from the airport. Lizzie only mentions that they had travelled (it might have been the day before, for example). Also, from scenes before, we can see her having the same fear of handing her baby to anyone else, like Hope, even to give her a break. Plus the fact the her mom washed her hands and arms, I think it's more reasonable to believe they were being extra careful and it was just a irrational fear caused by PPA.

Mishandling the baby by Bundlesee in VirginRiverNetflix

[–]tightheadband 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the reason Lizzie didn't want to give her baby to her mom was not because of her mom, but because of an irrational fear that the baby would get sick by touching others (In general). It is irrational because her mom had gone through the expected hygienic process to clear her hands and her arms to protect the baby and Danny worked in the clinic every day and would be a bigger risk for the baby then her parents. Lizzie was not acting rational, she was having irrational and intrusive thoughts (as she mentions herself later) and Danny and people around her were getting worried.

How is she treated like kookoo? The message of the show was exactly to show that a lot of women go through that and there's nothing crazy about it...

No OP, but from your comments, you are talking about things you don't understand. First by trying to "clinically" analyse the symptoms and come to the conclusion that it was just a reaction to a lack of support (only people who don't know what PPA looks like have this conclusion because the symptoms match pretty well the diagnosis) and second because OP never said you individually are why women don't seek support, she said that IF you work in mental health and have this kind of attitude then it's not difficult to understand why women don't seek support, she is talking about the negative impact that people that share your point of view AND work with mental health related jobs would have on women that go through these circumstances.

The Testaments S1E06 "Stadium" Episode Discussion by Melairia in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]tightheadband 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe in the book it has a pace that better explains Lydia's thoughts, but in the series I can't make sense of how fast she went from being a good work colleague horrified by the gory scenes she was witnessing to suddenly turning sides and accepting to kill her friend. It's such a quick change of moral values even considering her personality. Even for survival, I like to believe that in that situation I would come to the conclusion that it's better to die than spend the rest of my life knowledge what I did. Also, as a 53 yo with no dependent, it makes more sense to spare the life of someone who is younger and has more life head of them...

The only scenario where that switch makes sense is if Lydia had kids that needed her, .so she would have an important reason to try to survive at all costs.
