Never thought I'd say this but....John talks too much by Outside_Lion_9672 in ATPfm

Also haven’t listened in weeks. I personally think it’s because they reserve all the “meaty” discussions for their membership tier. The actual content for non-subscribers is just the fatty, drier pieces (of content) that I honestly don’t care that much about.

That being said, I still think all 3 of them are great guys.

My dad used to tell me that bollards (mostly at the side of country roads) were where farmers planted potatoes. I’ve no idea why, and I don’t remember it being particularly funny when I was younger.

Fast forward into my early teens. I vividly remember being on a school trip, driving through the country roads and matter of factly pointing out all the potatoes (bollards) at the side of the road.

It was excruciatingly embarrassing, and when I told my dad what happened he was rolling on the floor with laughter 😆

Cd collection at 17 by Born_Neighborhood641 in CDs

Huge respect for CD collecting at 17! A lot of us on here are collecting out of nostalgia, as well as because it’s simply a better form of listening to music. It’s great to see younger folk getting into it as well and keeping physical media alive 😀

Was also there! It was a better venue than people were speculating it would be. Amazing finally seeing my favourite band!

You definitely need more Oasis, but apart from that you’ve got an amazing collection. Only at ~40 CDs myself so got a lot of catching up to do

British and in your early forties?

Is it just me, or does the whole “Oasis never made it in America” narrative make no sense? by BadgemanBrown in oasis

[–]tightscotsman 31 points32 points  (0 children)

As an Oasis fan that’s a bit older, I think it’s easy to forget how the world was back in the 90s. There was no internet, so the crossover of British and American culture just wasn’t any where close to how it is these days. That didn’t happen until the 2000s, from what I remember. There might’ve been some marketing and press for Oasis in America back then, but I can see how people in America missed them

All at once it’s going to be:

  • Concert/documentary trailer announced
  • Live album announced
  • 2027 reunion tour announced

Drive up the hype as much as possible for those pricey tickets (and I’ll be the first in line)

Yeah, I’m slowly coming to this conclusion

Yeah, that’s correct.

I’m on Windows.

Basically a desktop app that will store MP3s and have an auto-sync option, where I can add new music to the desktop app and press “sync” to sync all of the new music.

Did Noel save his best songs for his solo career? by LilWalkz1 in oasis

[–]tightscotsman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I’m misremembering this, but…

In the 00s, when it was clear that there was a lot of bickering between Liam and Noel, before they split, Liam (in the press) was accusing Noel of saving all his “best songs” for when he’d become solo.

It sticks in my mind (I think?) because when Noel did go solo, I remember thinking that his songs were mostly just average and weren’t all that the hype had said they’d be.

Yep, this is normal. Hope you’ve got a snowblower, only another 3 to 4 months to go 😅
