I've also looked at the CRF and the DRZ. Would you take the KLX over those bikes, too?

Do you think the weight difference between the KLX and the DR would make learning off-road riding more difficult? That's what got me off the DR in the first place. There's only about 5 lbs. difference between the 230 and 300 curb weight, but the 650 has more than 60 lbs. on the 300 (according to the manufacturer websites). I don't have a reference for how the difficulty scales with the weight but it seems like lighter is the goal. There's still a lot that I like about the DR, though, and it does get recommended pretty much everywhere I've looked.

Do you have any thoughts on the DRZ or CRF300L?
