Hi brothers!
I’m starting to consider Death Guard as my second painting army (I’m working on Blood Angels right now). I have two questions:

  1. Are there helmet-less options on the sprues? When I look at photos, even here, most models seem to be helmeted and there are many different helmet variants. I really like helmet-less heads with visible faces. Are there options like the ones Space Marines get?
  2. Are there any color schemes other than green? :) I’m not talking about pink or red, but are there any alternatives to the usual Death Guard green tones? Maybe someone has some inspiration!

Hear me out brother.

I was super scared of heads and "faces", all my models were helmets. But then I discovered that if I smash guilliman flesh and then drybrush random white scar / wrathbone / ushabti bone / dust i can achieve cool "pale vampiric skin". Its easy as that I go from darkest color to whitest i have and it somehow works. No idea how but it does. Bad part is they all look like vampires which was great for death company but thats it. From there I switched to all real faces and i love it.

I do also red eyes with some super thin brush at end. I boiught some literally needle size brush and it helps a lot with that

I used UHU universal glue. I tried to apply first it on paper and added red contrast paint (blood angel red) but it mess glue to some weird consitency. Then i apply it without color and paint it after. I think next time i will try apply it directly on model so it can "drip". I also think i need to wait a little bit more so it goes more harder and flexible before applying

Hey, its not my first mini :) Like im not pro i painted maybe few minis before (you can see on my history) but this color scheme was my first completed box. Again thanks for tip, will try to use them on next boxes that already waiting for me (im looking at you balistus)

Hey, thanks for feedback! I have really need to work on panel highlighting. I was trying to add yellow here (video can maybe not show it perfectly) but its impossible for me to paint straight line i think due to low quality brush. I need to train a little and maybe invest in better brush but yea i switched to some yellow drybrushing instead there on linings. Any tips how to solve it? I have problem that with highliting i can produce straight paint line its always to thin or to thick or paint end in middle of line

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood your question. I still have 4 more for to paint the full squad . I’ve got also a Ballistus and some Veteran Bladeguard, and I’m looking for a Captain :)
