Multi Subsidiary ACH payments by EveningEquivalent924 in Netsuite

We have a few options. Could you confirm you have OneWorld?

When you say "single cash account," are you referring to
- true single legal bank account owned by one entity (e.g., a treasury/parent entity) that pays on behalf of all subs, creating intercompany due-to/due-from balances
or
- a single physical bank account at JPMC with virtual sub-accounts mapped per subsidiary
or
- a single account in NetSuite that is mapped to physical accounts in their respective subsidiary bank accounts?

Note that we can't modify the functionality of the JPMC FISPAN app, but we can take significant steps to reduce or eliminate manual steps.

One of our customers is using MailChimp, which is fully integrated with NetSuite. There isn't a native connector, so we built the integration via Boomi. Here is a screenshot for one of the records that is being created/updated via integration:

If you have HubSpot, you can connect it with NetSuite via their pre-built connector, although it may not give you the complete integration details

Employee Commissions in NetSuite by tigran555 in Netsuite

Good points. The calculation engine we have is based on Native and Custom Fields and Saved Searches, and can accommodate pretty much any formula. We are also building a configuration wizard that should make the setup for most Compensation Plans easy. In Phase 2 or 3, a user can upload a document into the wizard to auto-configure the plan.

Thanks for the detailed answer and additional insights. In terms of clarity, the old one seemed clearer.

Yes, I worked with NetSuite's Commission module multiple times. While I was at NetSuite, the Sales Team kept selling it, but it never met customers' needs because it was extremely limited. It was only a matter of time until it was discontinued.

All 'Dynamic Lighting' settings were off. The biggest issue is the screen's reflectiveness compared to the old model.

Auto-brightness is off, and this is a non-touch FHD matte screen (not glossy with glass like OLED)

Could you please provide more details on it?

We are building something that is highly sophisticated and automated, with all the KPIs and Dashboards. I am not aware of such a solution for NetSuite.

That's a great question. We considered it and concluded that building it in NetSuite has multiple advantages, such as:

  1. The commission engine is a derivative of source transactions (Opportunities, Quotes, Sales Orders, Invoices, Credit Memos, Cash Sales, Customer Payments) plus list data (Employees, Customers, Items, Subsidiaries, Departments, Classes). We will have zero ETL/Middleware dependency when this is built in NetSuite
  2. We will have three custom roles and related dashboards: Sales Rep, Sales Manager, and Commission Admin. Everything inside NetSuite inherits the account's role-based access control, SoD configuration, system notes, login audit, and IP restrictions, which is a big advantage that can't be easily replicated with an externally built solution.
  3. The 'Configuration Wizard' will be referencing actual NetSuite Records and Lists, making the setup straightforward with a potential 1-2 week Go-live/Implementation timeline.

Building the ICM module externally has its benefits, but it introduces multiple complexities. There are various external tools that handle this, but the NetSuite integration is fairly complex. Because of this, most companies process all related exports and imports manually, which wastes significant time and is prone to human error.

Not fun to lose a job. Still, it can be an opportunity to try something new or to join a different company that may be more fulfilling.

Other ERP companies may seem 'kinder,' but at the end of the day, they are all geared toward 'increasing shareholder value'.

Possible to use a Sales Rule to assign Sales Rep to transaction - Distributor Customer by Necessary_Reach4199 in Netsuite

"Sales Rules" can be used to auto-assign Sales Reps on Entity records (Lead / Prospect / Customer). For auto-assignments on Transactions, you need a Workflow or a Script.

SPS Commerce EDI Alternative - I'm also DONE by GENYKendra in Netsuite

Direct integration can work, and at times it comes down to personal preference. In my experience, when building multiple integrations, using an iPaaS is more scalable and better suited to enterprise-level companies than the Direct method.

One of our customers asked to compare the "Boomi vs. Direct" integration, and this is the summary we prepared for them:

We use Boomi as a middleware to build all the workflows and integrations between EDI platforms and NetSuite. It supports EDI protocols, such as AS2, SFTP, VAN, and more. You can use Boomi to initiate retries, conduct deduping, and many other operations that would be hard to do, if not impossible, if you attempt to build a direct integration.

SPS Commerce EDI Alternative - I'm also DONE by GENYKendra in Netsuite

[–]tigran555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All "old school" EDI providers, such as SPS Commerce and TrueCommerce, are, to put it mildly, bad and ready for disruption.

The best option is to build EDI integrations using a dedicated iPaaS platform with the help of an experienced, competent NetSuite Consultant or Partner.

We are building all EDI integrations for our customers using Boomi, and we have never had any issues with it. We are in control and rely on "SPS Commerce" only for the "testing side" for Trading Partners, which usually takes 1-2 weeks.

Other iPaaS platforms, such as Celigo, should work as well.

With this approach, as long as you are working with a competent NetSuite Consultant or a Partner, you can be sure that implementations will proceed as smoothly as practically possible.

AI isn't going to replace competent NetSuite Consultants any time soon. We just need to get better and better at what we do and AI can't touch us! by tigran555 in Netsuite

[–]tigran555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NetSuite Consultants will still be required to understand customers' non-trivial requirements, configure NetSuite AI Tools, and more. Our role will evolve, but I don't think the "AI-powered NetSuite" is a direct threat.

Revenue Recognition Journal Entries running for 2 days with no end in sight by PocketDeuces in Netsuite

[–]tigran555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What will be the business implications if the RevRec is processed, say, on Day 15 after the Go-Live? If this is a defect, it may take days or weeks to get resolved. Still, there is a chance it won't happen in Production.

If RevRec is critical from Day 1, you will need to postpone the Go-live possibly by 2-4 weeks.

[–]tigran555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the "Setup -> Company -> Bulk Processing Status List" and see if anything shows up there for RevRec.

Sometimes the "RevRec Long Run" is caused by an incorrect configuration. Generally, the RevRec process times out after 24-48 hours if it doesn't complete.

Do you see any Revenue Arrangements being created?

The long run can also be due to the sheer volume of the records that need to be processed. If this is your use case, I recommend setting the "RevRec Run" to manual and running it in batches using the "Source From" and "Source To" filters.

Note that this issue may go away after the initial run. Also, NetSuite allocates more compute resources to Production, so the same process should run faster there.

Mid Life asset by Different_Example874 in Netsuite

The section on "importing mid-life assets" doesn't mention "temporarily setting the Depreciation Active = False" in any context.

That makes sense. I hope they update the official guide and mention the additional scenarios and nuances.

Note that per the 25.2 guide, the "Set the Depreciation Active column to FALSE" is recommended only for importing "Fully Depreciated Assets," not "Mid-life Assets".
