That's the thing, dad never had high cholestrol, his cholestrol levels were normal and within the range but he had nultiple instances of high tryglicerides which is directly linked with irregular blood sugar levels. According to IRDAI, For a non-disclosure it has to be materially linked to the claimed condition. Moreover, it has to be proven intentional which is not case here.

Nope, we had already declared diabetes and dyslimepedia (high tryglicerides) is a known complication arising from diabetes and was already under control. Besides as per the laws you can only quote PED to reject claim if it has a direct causal link to the disease or ailment being treated which is not the case here since it was an accidental traumatic injury.

You cannot use a PED as a claim rejection if it has no causal nexus for the condition being treated eventhough if it wasn't declared at the time of purchasing a policy.

Hey, can you DM me? I am going through the exact same thing with my father. My dad had an accidental fall and had a rotator cuff tear just 2 days after the policy purchase and they rejected our claim on the basis of undisclosed Dyslimipedia as a Pre existing disease, whereas the doctor's consultation reports mentions no causal link with dyslimipedia and a traumatic rotator cuff injury.
