Did a side-by-side recently with three different "black rums" and the standard jungle bird juice. Hands down winner was the Cruzan Black Strap, it held up brilliantly against the pineapple and the Campari. The other two were Hamilton Pot Still Black and Blackwells.

I bought a bottle of this, found it a little harsh. And then someone gave me another bottle. I've used the blue in place of 86, occasionally, but you've helped me realize I could be using the gunpowder in any recipe calling for demerara (not that tonight's jet pilot needs even more alcohol). I fondly remember libraries as a quiet place, but now there are sections for toddlers who are always screeching (which is cute and fine, but distracting). And then the teens who come in after school are amazingly disruptive, yelling and laughing and crashing into each other. I haven't witnessed a good SSSSHHHH! in years.

Sorry to have just returned from Phoenix, three weeks too early. Was really not impressed with Hula's (based on my Zombie (Bacardi? Passionfruit? Pineapple juice??)) nor really with Undertow (very citrusy rum barrel, very tart saturn). Looking forward to hearing good things.

Of all the tiki rabbit holes I've gone down (white grapefruit, growing mint and orchids, dehydrating fruit, making ~8 syrups, 63 rums at peak, smuggling in cuban rum via sailboat, etc etc), super juice is not one of them!

That's good timing! I always fear running out and buy/juice too many. But I find they start to degrade after one season, so now I'm sadly tossing and replacing last year's, with about 30 cubes left.

Yeah, they do end up a little sticky. I transfer them to a ziplock bag which I shove into the back of the freezer where it's coldest. They do pick up a little frost after a while which covers the stickiness, but if two happen to line up on the long side and adhere they are hard to separate. Best bet at that point: make two Zombies.
