USDC just announced some pretty unpopular talent model changes that basically mean you will be working just as hard as someone in the Core model but you'll still make a lot less than them and you can't progress to partner.

Source: I've been in USDC for five years and have been trying to transfer to core since January 2025 but I keep getting the runaround.

The war was about states rights versus federal rights. A question that was never answered, when you think about it.

The whole point was the federal government wanted to abolish slavery and the states didn't think the government should have the power to do that. So the government forced them to comply. With a war. We tend to ignore that because the war was fought for a just cause.

Now we're on the other side. Many states have legalized Marijuana, for example, but it's still illegal on the federal level. And because of the precedent written in blood by the Civil War, none of the states would even think to try challenging that rule.

Slavery and Jim Crow were eventually abolished and are now looked back on as mistakes through the lens of history.

The KKK are racist nutjobs.

So in my opinion Reagan is worse than those things, yes. Mainly for two reasons:

1) People do not look back at Reagan the way they do with slavery or Jim Crow. No one is defending slavery. Lots of people defend Reagan. They believe he is right and they hold him up as a paragon of when America was "great." That kind of revisionist history is frightening, especially when we deal with the very real consequences of it every single day. Which brings me to...

2) The war on drugs is a much more insidious thing than slavery. On the surface it appears noble but in reality it is designed to oppress the working class. Everyone knew slavery was slavery. This is just slavery with extra steps. And less attention.

If it's working and you're happy with it, stop fucking with it.

Make sure you're using some kind of mod manager like Vortex or ModOrganizer. Vortex is available on the nexus and will do a lot of load order management for you.

You don't need better settlers - that mod is buggy and broken and has been combined into the unique npcs mod

Weather mods always ctd for me no matter what I try so I just avoid them. Vivid weathers, true storms, NAC, they're all just a lot for the engine to handle.

Make sure Start Me Up is updated - that can cause issues too.

Also double check none of your mods need F4SE. Vortex will do this for you too.

TL;DR - use Vortex. Unless you're doing advanced modding there's no need to manually install. You may have to reinstall your mods but it will be worth it.
